The Crow(Brandon Lee) vs The Joker(Heath Ledger)

The Crow is an all time favorite of mine. I even named my kid after him. (Draven)

The Joker, no question. The Dark Knight gets so much backlash here nowadays due to the laughable Dark Knight Rises and how much praise was lauded on Ledger for that performance. It's popular to deride it now. I find that hilarious.

I love Brandon but the only reason TDK was watchable was because of how good Ledger was in it. Both sequels to Batman Begins leave a lot to be desired but Ledger and Hardy make them worth watching.

Not to take away from the actors, but the joker is just a great character. Whenever he's involved, he out-cools batman.

The crow is another set up to be cool character.

So frankly, meh to both

Hardy is a mumbling oaf and brought nothing to Bane in the film. Dark Knight was far more than Ledger. It's cinematic take on Batman was simply unsurpassed at all levels. Heath was the standout performance, no doubt.

Disagree. TDK was too long, the Harvey Dent storyline was horrible and Hardy kills it as Bane even though the movie is laughably bad.

i agree, the tdk was too long and really just fell off with the final act surrounding harvey dent. But despite that, ledger killed it. The joker had been portrayed in so many ways and he took it to a place the character hadnt been taken.

Hardy may 'kill it' as Bane, but that accent basically kills Bane. Ledger's performance was much better. The Dark Knight was much better than Rises. However, to each their own.

The Crow by far way better movie...didn't Ledger cite Brandon Lee as the Crow an inspiration for his portrayal of Joker? That says it all and I feel the dark knight is somewhat overrated as well

Doesn't matter to me. I remember liking both performances. I need to re-watch The Crow, haven't seen it in years.

Coincidentally just saw this video the other day:

Crazy foreshadowing. Brandon seemed to be a thinker. RIP to them both.

I had the VHS of The Crow and this was in it. I remember watching it as a kid, I was amazed by this clip of Brandon.

Brandon would've been 50 this year. Quite sad.

When I was 12/13 my father bought the six foot cardboard display from the video store for me. I was obsessed with Brandon and Bruce when I was a kid.

Crow for me.

Dark Knight = Big Budget film
The Crow = semi Low Budget film

The Crow means a lot more to me than Ledger's Joker, although Ledger was definitely better.

Without The Crow there probably wouldn't have been a joker like that. Or a Blade. Or a bunch of other shit that followed. The Crow was groundbreaking and the overall style and feel of that film was just so unique. Amazing movie

Did you think TDK was too long the first time watching it in the theaters? TDK was one of the most enjoyable theater experiences I ever had and yet I find no desire to watch it years later. All of the movies flaws started to become apparent when watching it at home but my god the first time seeing it it was like was long roller coaster ride. I would say that and seeing Jurassic Park when I was a kid were my 2 favorite theater experiences.

If it comes on TV i really have no desire to watch it whereas I will leave on something like Lord of the Rings every time I see it on TV.
