Connor doesn't rely on physicality or reflexes.

When it comes to legit boxing fundamentals Connor was always on another level to Anderson.

People forget Anderson was 0-2 as a pro boxer.

Conor was a boxing champ in Ireland where they have legit programs, coaches, sparring partners etc

Once Connors reflexes deteriorate, it wont matter. None of Conor's game was based off reflexes. Conor will still have his superior lead hand game, timing, traps, and accuracy etc. Reacting quicker starts with the mind and no one in MMA has a sharper mind then Conor. Just look at the gif in the OP. Conor's feels Mendes out with a lead hand probe, makes his read, the shoots the left beating Mendes explosion with ease.

Watch Conor overextend here and what Dustin Poirier tries to land whilst Conor is momentarily vulnerable (off balance). You'll see Conor's lead shoulder is already up to protect that side of his chin while throwing his punch and then you'll see him dodge a right hook from Dustin followed by a left hook. That left hook was rolled with, notice how far Conor's head turns (and watch his waist twist in the opposite direction knowing it was coming) and how he stays perfectly at the end of the punch. He then pushes off Dustin's forehead to create space and circles away so Dustin can't just chase him easily (falling back retreating on a straight line would have allowed Dustin to do this).

In the Mendes GIF provided in the OP it's a similar situation, Mendes throws a right and then a left (then another right but we're looking at the first two punches here). Conor avoids the first right hand entirely and then rolls with the next, which happens to be a predictable left as Poirier also threw in his sequence, right hook then a left hook.

Note the obvious similarities between the two sequences and compare...

Conor is already shifting his weight to the back foot and leaning left before Mendes glove even touches his chin. It was far from a picture perfect roll but it was enough to allow Conor to easily eat it without being fazed. Nobody is arguing that it was a perfect roll, but he was indeed turning with the punch and started to even before it came in.

Jones has been on an absolute tear in the UFC. If he hadn't self-destructed by coking up and driving his cars into other light poles and pregnant ladies he'd probably have knocked out another win and be just 1-2 fights shy of having a very compelling GOAT argument.
