Neither did Jones know how to defend himself against Gus. Just shows the delusion of the Conor fanboys. He ate a clean left, enough to "spring his neck". His shoulder was no where to be found except the end of the punch. His clavicle cupped the end of the punch for God's sake.

You have reading comprehension problems, I never said Jones hasn't been caught getting too close. You just posted a gif of Cormier highlights, none of those gifs fit the criteria of what I requested, you make no attempt to explain anything your just an irrelevant gif poster.

I actually agree with a lot of what you say but the reason Jones stiff arm was defeated in that fight was because Gus has comparable reach, coming up just short of landing from Jones extended arm, He leans to close the small distance disparity, Rashad, Shogun, Anyone else in the division can lean all they want they still won't reach him.

I'd also like to point out that Chads footwork on that left hook was shoddy and took away a metric ton of power. McGregor may have a strong chin but I think if Aldo landed his left hook in that same situation we would have seen Conor on skates.

That elbow from Jones on Rashad was as basic of a step in elbow as possible. Thats all just long arms on Jones part.

In fact Condit's counter elbow on Alves that blew his nose up was far superior technically. Even Matt Brown throws superior step in elbows. He actually drops opponents with it

Boxingislife is straight schooling these nubs. Good job man. And you're completely right about Condit and Matt Brown having SUPERIOR step-in elbows to Jones. Jones almost always has AT LEAST an 8" reach advantage on his opponents, but it's been as high as around a foot. Conor didn't even have a usable 8" reach advantage on Mendes because Conor's chest is much broader and they measure your wingspan across the chest. Realistically, the difference in reach was about 5-6", so 2.5" to 3" per arm. That's not that much. Conor never needed long arms to be able to control distance and land anyway. Anyone that thinks otherwise needs to stop watching MMA altogether.
 
Conor relied on his chin too much in the stand up, and and on Herb Dean on the ground to stand the fight up. You win some, you lose some I guess.

You know what took away the power of Mendes left hook? Conor rolling with it. You haters are so desperate to downplay him

And do you know why Memdes was never really in perfect position to land with authority? Because of Conor - his range control, and footwork

Because of Conor clipping Mendes coming in, smoothering him, and then rolling Mendes right hand clean off his back making Mendes miss widely.

That left hook was literally the only thing Mendes could get through. It was meaningless. Conor quicly recovered, hop stepped back and re-established range with a throw away left

How was that gif not impressive on Conor's part when that was Mendes BEST MOMENT and yet Conor still dictated it, WON IT, controlled and neutralised. Aldo couldnt neautralise Mendes best momemts like that. Mendes tagged Aldo at will

Did you also miss Conor making Mendes miss every single right hand after first clipping Mendes?

In that same situation, Conor embaresses Aldo even more. Tags him, stops him in his tracks, and makes Aldo miss what ever he can muster up
