The case for McGregor vs Aldo 2 at UFC 200

If McGregor won last night rumor had it the UFC was going to unveil artwork for Lawler vs McGregor at UFC 200.

One would think McGregor losing was a sure bet for Edgar to get a title shot but Edgar has the personality of a doorknob and did terrible on PPV(150k - 325k was his range without BJ Penn). Add on to the fact Edgar has a better chance of beating Conor and that Aldo is guaranteed to be a more pleasing style for a giant audience there is a very good chance they just give it to Aldo.

The really need a UFC 200 main event and McGregor losing in a weird way makes Jose Aldo more marketable as a rematch. Conor is now again "human"

There is no case, Aldo ran at him like a moron and got bodied in 13 seconds.

I feel like not that many people are clamoring to see that rematch. There has already been two huge promotional pushes for that fight, obviously one of those fell through, but I just feel like it's not the time yet. I'm a huge Aldo fan, but he got starched, let him fight Holloway for the #1 contender, and give Frankie the shot that he's clearly earned. After that McGregor can get out of the 145lbs division for good, win or lose.

I think Jones headlines UFC 200 if he beats DC. A rematch of a 13 second KO would be a very underwhelming main event for UFC 200, plus Conor's appeal obviously just took a big hit.

They need Conor on that card wether or not he's the main event or co-main. He pulls way bigger numbers than Jones.


13 second KO has zero indication on how the rematch plays out. If thats the case then Cain would of never bounce back after JDS smoked him on FOX. Aldo has a win over Edgar and his only other loss was over 10 years ago.

Don't be surprised Zuffa gives it to Aldo.

Ha Conor is still the champ. Who else is going to move tickets and ppv buys as much as him? This is like saying Rousey can't sell PPVs anymore which is literally what people said the day after her loss.
