Look just because he admitted to taking steroids doesn't dismiss the fact that he took steroids to get an edge and cheat. His legacy will always be tarnished, just like all the other fighters that have pissed hot.

But unfortunately, the Brian Ortega hype train has begun. Hopefully Max Holloway will derail it quickly.

Yeah he tested positive. Can we move on. Life isn't fair and a former cheater is now number 1 contender. Lets move on.
 
In his defense, he was 23 when he popped, 4 years ago now dude.. If he pops again then he will get the storm of hate, but at 23 alot of people do stupid shit. Now if you talking about Jones a multi millionaire 30 year old who failed 3 drug tests and makes all the excuses under the sun, that is a different story.

At this point I would say that it's not hype. He's actually legit.
 
Ortega has been climbing the ladder cleanly for 3 years now. Jones has popped twice within the last 2 years. The difference? Jones hasn't learned his lesson. Ortega has 5 finishes in a row since USADA and he hasn't popped, so if he gets a title shot, if he becomes champion, etc., we know definitively its not due to cheating. Jones became champ and dominated when there wasn't any testing. His best performance was knocking out D.C., but he was very possibly cheating at the time.

You just want to ban them for life? Yeah, let's ban everyone who's ever popped for a banned weight cutting drug for life! That will leave an awesome roster of fighters!
 
I'm not bothered but i'm not convinced that substance he failed for is an oral weightcutter like he claimed which sort of has implications for the rest of it. Perhaps someone more competent could comment?
 
Guy is legit bro, can't deny it now. Past is the past, and what he did to frankie should earn him half a belt. Great performance

It'll definitely leave a clean roster and discourage all fighters from taking steroids.

Jesus Christ, it looks like MMA is the only sport where the fans defend steroid users with a passion.
 
Dudes good and has tested clean for years. Suck it up.
 
He tested positive which may keep him out of GOAT talks, but this guy's hype train is legit
