The Best MMA Fighter To Have A Boxing Base?

If McGregor really had the kind of boxing his fans would make you believe, he wouldn't be an MMA fighter. That's the truth.

Holmie Holme though she may have done KB first. Also she ducked someone.

Easy

You know what the crazy thing is? We've had Olympians, world champions and legitimately elite competitors from all kinds of grappling sports like wrestling (Cejudo, Cormier, Mendes, Romero, Hendricks), judo (Lombard, Rousey, Akiyama) and BJJ (Jacare, Maia, Werdum, Santos) make careers in MMA. We've never seen any boxers on an even remotely similar level dedicate themselves to an MMA career. Not a single top 50 ranked boxer has ever seriously made the transition, probably not even top 100.

To give you an idea about how poor the level of boxing talent to cross over to MMA is, Joseph Duffy got some hype based on his pro boxing career of 7-0...against exactly 0 opponents with a winning record. The combined record of his opponents is an abysmal 43-92. McGregor is another example. At one point he was getting hyped as a national boxing champ in Ireland which turned out to be more than a little misleading. We have grapplers who were extremely successful at the WORLD level, while we have some boxers who were successful at the national level at best.

There are a few higher level kickboxing crossovers, like Cro Cop, Hunt and Overeem, but the overall level of striking talent is still dramatically lower than the level of grappling talent. This applies to the coaching to some extent as well, with the exception of guys like Hooft, Cordeiro, Ludwig, etc.

Joseph Duffy. 7-0 in pro boxing and 14-1 in MMA.

That 7-0 record was against complete cans, with a combined record of 43-92. Only one of the guys he fought had even won any of his last 3 fights, and none of them won more than 2 of their last 5. His boxing credentials are just about worthless.

Still an awesome fighter though.

Indeed. Conor likes money and there is a hell of a lot more of it in boxing if you can get to the top level.

I see that you suffer from very poor reading comprehension which maybe from you being mentally challenged.

My question was....THE BEST MMA FIGHTER TO HAVE A BOXING BASE.

Not once did I asked which MMA fighter is or was the best boxer.

The best MMA today to have a Boxing base is McGregor.

That is not hard to understand.

lol. Don't try those attacks against anyone dude, you're easily one of the most mentally inept people here, and that's saying something when you think about the notoriety of some users, past and present. Easily top 3 at the least, boy.

I gave many possible answers. If you want to talk about active MMA fighters, since you said today, Masvidal or some people could say Rampage. Maldonado is fun, but I wouldn't pick him nor Noons for similar reasons. Makdessi is pretty jab savvy. Lawler has come together nicely.

He has less than 20 mma fights and is making multi millions already, you sure about that? Most boxers aren't making crazy money.

Sometimes when you walk down the streets of Midtown NYC you will have mental patients call you names but you just brush it off because in reality you can only feel sorry for them.

I see this being the case here with me feeling for you little buddy.

Masvidal's MMA career is not as good as McGregors. You do know that McGregor is fighting for the title and will more than likely win the title right?

So how is Masvidal a better successful MMA fighter than McGregor?

Maldonado? Really? He is not as ranked or as good a MMA fighter as McGregor.

Again. My question is "Who is the best MMA fighter with a Boxing base"? You understand little buddy?

Btw, Rampage and Lawler's base is wrestling genius.

I think McGregor is the best MMA fighter of all time to have a Boxing base.

His boxing is really on point, calculating, packs power and fluent movement....But of course this is MMA and he has the package to be a top MMA fighter for a while.

I see Aldo getting knock out, more likely from throwing leg kicks only to be timed by McGregor and get caught with a counter.

Despite others with boxing bases holding titles Mcgregor is the GOAT already?
