Newfag (Conor Fan) here looking for some veteran sherdog knowledge.

When did all start to fall apart for Conor? That Nate punch in Round 2 at 2:23? Maybe early?
I though he won clearly the first round, and the second one too... till Diaz rocked him.

I´m not buying on the theory he gassed out. Come on. He had a full camp. I just think Nate Diaz was the bigger man today. No excuses. Proved to have an iron chin and huge determination.

I´ll probably have to rewatch the fight, but I´ll appreciate your serious, non biased analisys.

Personally, when Diaz ducked under and clinched with him the first time, that immediately showed me he wasn't going to shy away. As for where he started to connect, it was the right hook and 1-2 combo around 2:25 of the second round. After that McGregor appeared to be rocked, he was backing up like he's never done before and shot a desperation TD.

Do you really think you 'll get "serious non-biased analysis" here after viewing the scores of shit threads over the last 12 hours? I hope you will. IMO, demise began with big shot you mentioned in Rd. 2.

I honestly think he mentally broke, the demise started when he landed bombs and Nate said cmon son. I think that caused a sort of panic that along with throwing continuous bombs hurt his attack.

There was a moment in the second round where Nate put his hands out in his "what" stance after Conor teed off on him, and Nate just started trading with him.

I saw Conor begin to deflate right there. You could see his facial expression beginning to morph.

He won the first round but watch his expression as soon as it finished he caught Nate about 4 times and he didn't flinch, I really think he overestimated his power.

That has crossed my mind too. But if true, shows me how low fight IQ he had.
He scored round 1.
He was ahead in round 2...
He was facing a guy with big cut and the face covered in blood... that only had a 10 days training camp...

Just chill! Patience! Play it safe. Let him gass out!

I´m not trying to take anything away from Nate. Hats off to him. He whooped his ass, and with a full training camp... dude, that would have been another story. I knew he had great boxing... but he surpassed my expectations. It´s funny, he (Conor) seemed more exhausted than Nate, even before Diaz rocked him.

I notice Nate said in the FOX interview that he threw a knee to his body before "the puch" and he noticed it affected McGregor hard.

I have to rewatch the fight

if you watch the fight closely you can see diaz was kinda letting conor hit him with full blows and mcgregor was hitting glove. Gassed a bit and diaz caught him clean and smiled. Conor went in panic mode and diaz choked his ass.

Nate landed a clean 1-2 that rocked Conor. Conor tried to play it off but the damage was done. A couple more punches down the line he panicked, shot a TD and the rest is history. Before that I think he was winning the fight.

he got punched in the face, shot a takedown, and made a mistake.

Don't read too much into it.

I rewatched the fight this morning and I think Conor was winning the entire fight until Nate rocked him with that one two. Conor's leg betrayed him there as he was trying to bluff like he was fine but couldn't. From that point Diaz knew he had him. At no point in the fight though did I feel like Diaz was in trouble. If Conor was to win that fight it was going to be on points.

Near 2 minutes into the round conor landed a few heavy shots. Diaz then threw his arms in the air with a taunt. That was the beginning of the end.

From that point on Conor looked beat and Diaz looked like a terminator. I really think Nate shrugging off Conors biggest shots had a mental impact that threw Conor off and made him start flinging desperate shots and missing.

Just rewatch it and I think things started to fall apart earlier. About one minute earlier, after landing a knee to his body, Nate starts to land almost everything he shoots. Maybe the one-two in 2:23 was the one who definately rocked him... but he was pretty hurt before.
