The Anime and Manga Thread v47

I don't really like Howls Moving castle.

The only Ghibli that I was severely disappointed was Tales From Earthsea. The hype was there and it was set in a proper fantasy world. What a letdown.

As far as mystery you might like: Higurashi When They Cry. Do understand though that you will be very confused about what's happening for a long time.
Man, I watched until the 3rd season, it gets boring fast after you learn about the mystery. I saw the new season and thought it was a reboot, but after people said it's a continuation I dropped it.

I stopped after the first season because season 2 was sub only. I hate starting an anime dubbed then switching to sub. I was watching it while I did other things which you can't do with subs so I just dropped it.

It isn't worth it imo. Even in the newest season, I look at some reaction channel, and they still have the same murder case like in the first season, although from what I've read the mystery is revealed much earlier.

It gets repeated over and over lol.

Yea even season 1 was sort of meh for me. Maybe Summertime rendering? That's a good one.

The artwork seems really cool. I've seen this before, I thought it was romance hahah. I'll check it out. SHould I read the manga or watch the anime?

I'm not a manga guy so I'm not sure how well done it is but I thought the anime was great. 100% not a romance anime at all. Has that element of course but it's more action\mystery.

lol I never really saw it.
Try this?

I watched this on Netflix and while I thought it looked good I can't really say I ever understood what it was about. They had a second season which I was shocked to find out and never watched it. Funny thing is I saw a reviewer who pretty much said the same thing that he just was kind of lost on what the plot was.

Anyone watch Ping Pong the Animation? It's only 11 episodes, but I've heard good things about it. Plan to start it tonight or tomorrow.

Also looking for a good kid friendly (8 year old) soccer anime. Was thinking Aoashi since Blue Lock seems a little bit too much for his age. When I was watching Kuroko Basketball he would watch a few episodes with me mainly when they had actual matches, but a little too pervy at times for his age and very self centered ego driven characters so I didn't really let him watch much.

I think stuff is lost in translation or they rushed an ending. Some anime is not just done well. Tokyo Ghoul is one of them even though it's not detective genre. It's kinda confusing. It also didn't help that I mixed up season 4 with 3.....

The stuff I watch with detectives usually have a supernatural component. Ghost Hunt is one of them. I tried this detective anime called n221 Kabukicho but the plot was a bit odd too.

Tokyo ghoul I thought had a great 2 seasons. After that it was so rushed and all over the place that I could hardly understand what was happening. I guess I’m happy they at least ended it.

Just finished rewatching samurai champloo for the millionth time, decided to create AI art through midjourney of Mugen.

Btw do you guys know any good detective or mystery manga or anime? I was a huge fan of Psychometrer Eiji and Kindaichi, but Eiji new series sucked and Kindaichi has too many different series it's very confusing to follow.
Rent a Girlfriend.

The mystery is why people keep watching/reading it

I believe @Zebra Cheeks greatly disliked When They Cry iirc

Not surprised it wasn't exactly that great to me either. I thought it was watchable though and I saw a lot of people online did enjoy it.

A guy I work with who periodically watches anime has been telling me to watch this one. He's always been one of those people who just like the Shonen anime so I was kind of surprised when he told me I need to watch it.

I peeked at Pluto this morning and they had classic live action Kamen Rider and looked like professionally done subtitles.
