Sherbros, thanks for harping on how good "A silent voice" is, I just saw it and yes indeed it is amazing, but also please accept this from the bottom of my heart.

My Kenshin: trust and betrayal blu ray just arrived, waiting for a chance to watch it with a friend who hasn't seen this masterpiece.
The odd thing is, I kinda feel that blu ray remastering is bad for some older anime. After watching the opening clip, I kinda wish I got the normal dvd.
IMO binging is the worst way to watch an anime. It is good to think about it over at least a day. I really had to hold off on binging Case study of vanitas.... just one a day.
Good list but then you included Darker than Black, and Baccano. Imo both suck ass.
I love nearly all those anime, but I think AOT is better. No story is more interesting than AOTs in anime. Most of those are good due to characters and the fights....important aspects but the narrative is the most important aspect to me and many others. Nothing beats AOT in that department.
Well thats why you dont enjoy AOT as much. You prefer characters that are more dynamic and arent one dimensional and plot devices. Imo I love the characters, Erwin, is one of the best characters in anime.
I prefer plot to characters. Shows like Severance, AOT, etc are right up my alley.
It started to....move the plot forward? By revealing twists hinted at, and foreshadowed in past seasons? I would say thats good story telling.
AOT is goat, have they finished the dub for the final season prt 2 yet? I've been waiting to binge it, just trying to avoid spoilers
Characters are important to me, but I'm all about the sweeping plot too. No anime has pulled me in quite like FMAB until AOT. They are paced so well, dripping out huge reveals, and opening the world. That's how Elden Ring felt to me, as we slowly get introduced to new locations with great backstories.
What are your favs, list as many as you want
I just started Monster. I'm really in the mood for a good thriller, and it's something I've never got around to watching. It has a such a great start so far.
Severance was fucking awesome too. I loved every minute of it, but my fav moment
was Dylan waking up in the closet. That was such a big wtf moment.

I used to think CG was a top tier anime, even after several rewatches. I then rewatched it again last year....and its mediocre as fuck. I cant believe I actually rated it so highly. I think at the time it was great, but with age it has gotten worse.

You have my taste bruh and the reasons why I like the same shit. Its why I love ER......
Some suggestions as good as AOT? None on that level as far as I know. I watched sub so I dunno about dub. Its probably finished.
I loved Monster early on but I always hit some episodes in the middle that have nothing happening and I drop it. But its really well done.
Youve probably seen some I rate super highly and among my favourites ever.
If you like AOT, youll like The promised Neverland Season 1 is goddamn A+++++ tier. You'll love that if you havent seen it. 12 episodes of greatness. Dont watch the next season.
Some fantastic psychological thrillers include Kaiji. This show was pretty much the main inspiration for Squid Game. Some of the games are pretty much ripoffs in the show. Its slower at points but its so worth the payoffs.
A more sports version and more fast paced is One Outs. Its damn amazing. The same author did Liar Game, which I love.
Stein's Gate. Its 12 episode.....and it took me 2 tries to get past the first 6 but trust me its damn amazing. Its honestly worth it, and I actually enjoyed the first 6 more after the second 6 episodes.
These are more shonen and youve seen em but I love these:
These anime litter my top 25.
FMA: B
AOT
Death Note
Ippo. I love this shit, still the only manga I read.
Hunter X Hunter. Both versions, I love the darkness of the first.
Yu Yu Hakashu
Cowboy Bepop
Great Teacher Onizuka
Rainbow
Devilman Crybaby. Some of the best music in an anime ever. Episode 9 can make anyone cry. Edgy and might not be for everyone but I loved it.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Newer anime that may make the list if their series finishes strong:
Vinland Saga
Jujutsu Kaisen
Demon Slayer [I know, I know but that animation, the fights ooooh]
Tower of God
Guilty Pleasure that may make my top 10 if it finishes strong:
Kaguya Love is War [dub]. Great narrator, some absurd logic, and some dumb characters. Romance but fuck it man, just enjoy it.
Man Severence is awesome, too bad we need to wait a year for the second season. I love this kind of onion storytelling where new reveals put everything into context but also makes us question more.
