Watched this like last month. Such a great movie. I really liked that they didn't go the predictable route of focusing on the romance on this movie and just sort of hinted at it here and there.







Preach. Once it's all over I plan on rewatching it all from beginning to end. GOAT anime not even close.

I'm glad more people are finding it. I've only watched it once and it still feels like I only watched it yesterday. A movie that doesn't shy away from suicide and depression and instead of focusing on romance it focuses on self healing.

Finished "A Place Further than the Universe" it was enjoyable enough.

AOT is a subject of contention simply because you either like it or you don't. For me I personally can't stand AOT. I can understand why people do but to me it's popularity/quality is far overhyped. Opinions on Anime is subjective to the individual.
For instance I really enjoy
Fairy Tail
My Hero Academia
Edens Zero
While others don't enjoy them or can't get into them. I don't mind if people don't like what I like, but there isn't really a need to tell someone something they enjoy is garbage because you don't enjoy it. At the end of the day naming something "the greatest" is completely subjective i.e
Akira is the best Anime movie ever made. Is that because of the plot? No, it's because it was a cinematic masterpiece decades ahead of its time in terms of visuals. Hell I can't even remember what the plot of Akira was. To me the movie Your Name or A Silent Voice are better than Akira simply because their plots were more enjoyable and grabbing to me. But if I were to say "A silent voice" is better than Akira on an Anime Forum I'd get squashed with the power of 10,000 neckbeards.

Enjoy what you enjoy, no need to shit on someone else's enjoyment.

I like AOT although I won't rank it that high, because my taste for shounen is not what it used to be. The only thing I REALLY dislike about AOT is how the characters are really loud and are over the top shouting all the time. Still fantastic anime of course.

Attack on Titan for pure action is top 3 for sure imo.

Side note , I always perk up when several of the series I follow use the popular Staples of Chinese lore , such as the "Mount Hua Sect " or Demonic sects, depending on the writer it's interesting who they make the protagonists and antagonists

Thanks sherbro, maybe it's because I started watching during the early 2000s. But these are considered classic for a reason. If you haven't seen welcome to NHK or Oddtaxi I would highly recommend them. If I'm not mistaken they are also considered seinen. Also I don't know if you read manga nowadays but the author of Monster has some of the top thriller/Mystery manga of all time.

Thanks sherbro, I've been planning to rewatch Planetes since forever but haven't gotten around to it yet, amazing anime.

If you love monster than you should watch OddTaxi for sure.
