Whose stock went up after the 7th Republican Debate? (Multiple Choices)

No but it is the one that fits his current and past behavior. You can even go back before his candidacy: when the validity of his statements is questioned Trump cannot defend his positions. Instead he lashes out and threatens legal action.

It seems to be working for him. Doesn't it also fit his persona to show he's not beholding to conventions of the establishment and that he's to big for FOX news to bring down?

Personally I object to calling these things debates. Q&A is far more accurate, based on the multitude of topics and precious few exchanges that enlighten the viewer with facts. There's really no tangible benefit to assembling the candidate on stage other than maybe letting the voters know who they should be favoring.

It's consistent with his being a petulant baby with a giant ego, yes. I thought that's what I said. ;)
He used to threaten people via letter anytime they challenged him. Now he goes to Twitter. Frankly it's pathetic.

I largely agree that that's how they end up.

I can't read the dude's mind. I just know I don't buy the "scared" narrative. If anything this is as ballzy a move as I've seen a candidate make.

I can't read minds either but we know from his past that he throws tantrums when challenged.
This, to me, is another tantrum. That there are potentially negative ramifications to it doesn't necessarily ballsy, a kid pounding a wall in a fit isn't ballsy, it's a tantrum.

I only know him from his tv show. I agree he doesn't do that great of a job debating on facts. If you're going to assume this decision was heavily weighed then I've got nothing to prove you wrong. Maybe I'm incorrectly presuming he has campaign advisors that would encourage him to play nice if they thought it mattered. This looks like a plus for Trump in my book. But I'm a bit of an oppositional-defiant personality.

Without Trump Republicans can now stop the circus and seriously discuss the important issues that face the nation.

LMAO! Just kidding! It will be more of the same bullshit (planned parenthood selling baby parts, reducing taxes on the wealthy, bombing middle eastern brown folks, etc.).

Uhm, I'm the one assuming it wasn't.

Fuckin' fuck. Every time I don't proofread.

I think it's gonna be open season on Cruz tomorrow, as he will be the leading candidate on the panel.

True. More pressure on him too while trump sits back. I wonder if he will choose to bash trump for the most of his time

heya there Lead Salad,

i think this move is going to be a net positive for Mr. Trump.

Mr. Cruz doesn't get to punch up at Trump...and if he does, he just raises Mr. Trump's profile even more.

it also gives the also rans more oxygen and mic time, so they can continue to dilute the field as they bash one another for 3rd place in Iowa and 2nd or 3rd place in New Hampshire.

plus, all i saw on CNN tonight was wall to wall discussion on Donald Trump. more free air time.

i was watching lawrence odonnells show and he said trump will find a way to squirm out of the general election debates. he cant handle a one on one debate. trump will not read up on political issues and diplomatic issues other than just keep it to slogans and simple answers. he will just find an excuse to make it about himself and keep the reality show going.

I know a lot of people in the WR think the ratings gonna tank tomorrow, but there's always that possibility of just as many will be tuning in to see what a real debate is like without Trump throwing buzzwords around and talks in circle to avoid the tough questions.

If Cruz is smart, he will utilize his superior debate skill to demolish the other candidates and show the viewers he's a serious Presidential contender with a real game plan for America, while making a few funny jokes every now and then in Trump's expense.

If all went well, this might be the first time that Cruz steps half-way out of Trump's shadow and into the spotlight.

If you can't trust the Republican party to not nominate a foreign born dude with a Commie dad then I'm at a loss.

You do need some Commie/Socialist street cred to get votes from the other side of the isle...

YOu know what made America great. America was never afraid of a fight.
Trump is ducking a woman, what is he going to do when some world leader hurts his feelings.
The reason Regan was great is he never ducked.

True, but is getting into a verbal pissing match with a lady reporter what other world leaders respect?

Which is why I think the debate today will be a real debate.

He didn't duck her. According to polls Trump is leading and has won all debates so far. Why would it be in his interest to go to on a debate with a biased moderator and two youtube questioners, one an illegal alien and the other a muslim advocate? To gladly just take whatever someone dishes out is weak.

"These idiots on Fox, asking if "Trump would walk out on Putin?" as if that's a rhetorical question. Of course he would. That's the art of the deal. Every deal begins with everyone at the table knowing the other guy has the option of walking out. If you don't hold that card, you're not a deal maker.
You're a hostage."

By the way. Reagan skipped debates

That actually got America into a lot of trouble, sorry to say.

A top 4 of things that made America great would be more like,

- natural resources + agriculture/arable land + critical mass of population (pre 1900s)
- investment into academic R&D that has spawned tech (pharma, materials, aerospace, electronics, computing) and wealth like the world has never seen
- a 20 yr period where where everything was made in the US because every other place that manufactured stuff had been destroyed.
- #1, the willingness to deploy large amounts of risk capital to build and create shit. Old imperialistic money from Europe is largely used to own expensive properties and equities. The US deploys private money in the form of risk capital to create wealth.
