The 7th Democratic Presidential Debate 2016 by CNN [March 6] [5pm PST] [8pm EST]

Out of the 3 Dem debates I have seen I think Bern came off as the nuttiest and most aggressive in this one.

He definitely was more direct with Clinton this time around.

It's not even a hard fact like he made it sounds to be, but really is an old 8-ball prediction made over 15 years ago that has been called out by fact checkers, such as this one by the Washington Post.

On a related note, I can only imagine the outrage if somebody start spewing "facts" that says "one in three black males are criminals".

The stale prediction that "one in three black males born today will end up in jail"
By Glenn Kessler June 16, 2015

“A black male baby born today, if we do not change the system, stands a 1 in 3 chance ending up in jail. This is an unspeakable tragedy.”

— Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), interview on “Charlie Rose,” June 11, 2015

This was an interesting factoid offered by the Vermont senator, who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination. It pops up regularly in media accounts, including on The Washington Post’s Web site when Sanders earlier in June called on Congress to spend $5.5 billion on job-training programs.

But what’s the source of this statistic and how accurate is it?

www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2015/06/16/the-stale-statistic-that-one-in-three-black-males-has-a-chance-of-ending-up-in-jail/

They hardly called out the fact, instead pointed out that the data is old. The representative of the group who wrote the original story conceded that the data is now old and that the rate is now closer to 1 in 4.... Hardly an egregious error and still a disturbing statistic. The WP giving two pinnocchios for this is worthy of a pinnocchio of its own. Latching onto Sanders phrasing as a means to discredit the issue or demagogue Sanders is pure deflection.

That justifies the anti-white racism of the left?

No, it is the result of an arms race, but in the terms of identity politics.

I would say the initiator is more to blame, but both parties are at fault.

So Sanders supporters should think that anything Trump says to his voters is OK since they don't see a big deal in what he said.

Then he should stop using very deliberate, borderline-racist, rhetoric, to win over a demographic that, ironically, wants nothing to do him.

It is terrible and disgusting pandering. I wonder what he considers himself: white and privileged, or a Jewish minority? Context is important here.

....And speaking of demographics, I would also like to see him address his statement that women fantasize about being gang raped.

the media only cares about Sanders tone towards Hillary. They don't care about the facts. They won't learn that the political correctness is causing a short circuit in people's brains. They are electing Chairman Trump… There is no stopping him now, the media doesn't learn and people crave leadership and order. George Carlin would be laughing at this election.

God you're scared

I didn't say anything about him getting nominated.

You're all concerned about and condescending with who the GOP does.

You speak a lot of fear. Projection.

You still view the world through a scope.

Bernie can't win for trying. I read post after post talking about how pro-black he is and my response is that I haven't seen or heard it. This is probably the first overtly black related thing to come out of his mouth and it seems to be going poorly.

Perhaps he doesn't quite have his finger on black issues the way his supporters seem to think. And, perhaps, when they say he's the best candidate for black people they don't actually want him to directly "pander" to those black people for their support. The whole thing is hilarious.

This is UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE.
This is a legitimate presidential candidate?????

If you are white you don't know what it is like to be poor. If you are not white then due to your skin color you either grew up in or more likely still live in a ghetto.

This whole sh!tsandwich is just as racist against people of color as it is against whites!

Bernie Sanders a true fucking RACIST. He just said that ghettos are all black people. There is no one else in ghettos but black people. As if being all black poor neighborhood = ghetto.

Lol, fact is that Bernie WANTS TO KEEP THE BLACK MAN DOWN. Classic Whitey. Bernie wants to give handouts in exchange for VOTES. Vote for me you ghetto people I will give you handouts. You need me. Fuck teaching you how to fish, I will give you fish for 4 years at a time off the working man's dime.

yep, more proof KKK is a democratic party

Honestly, I try to abstain from the harping and conspiracy theories about media bias, but the amount of major outlets releasing stories about how Sanders lost last night's debate is insane to me given that I thought it was clearly his first undeniable win.

The most forwardly biased is this one from the Washington Post:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...s-democratic-debate/56dcf1e6981b92a22d730a5d/

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/201...enies-bernie-sanders-win-flint-debate-n533031

The trend seems to be that major outlets and smaller independent came away with completely different impressions of the debate.

I'm a Sanders supporter. Let's be real. He made a dumb statement.

Had two friends message me last night and say they're done with him. Keep in mind they despise Hillary. It was definitely a dumb statement, but it was pretty clear something like that was bound to happen.

I am not a sanders supporter at all but i dont think he said what he was trying to say. I think he was just trying to make a connection with the crowd. I doubt he really thinks all white people are rich and live in mansions.

The thing is, that some people hide their true feelings very well, but then slip up thinking that what they say is not showing their true feelings. Bernie is just showing his true feelings. He thinks of black people as poor ass ghetto fucks along with all the bad things being "ghetto" entails.
He really said, look, if your ghettos preclude any race except blacks. So blatantly racist.

He was not trying to come off as racist out loud in public, but his prejudice showed through. You can't hide from your shadow no matter how hard you try.

Comment was fine, it was taken out of context like always.

IIRC, Sanders was just recounting what a member of BLM movement said to him, he wasnt making this as a statement.

Seems a lot of people mis-heard him accidentally or purposefully.

You speak a lot of fear. Projection.

You still view the world through a scope.

You do realize that this post is idiotic after you admit it was a dumb statement
