The 4 poster boys are dead

Another curse of the poster... boys.

The only one left (not a poster a boy) is Jones... once Jones loses... balance will be restored to the force of MMA that fractured the moment Fedor lost, then Silva and many others. Once Jones loses... the aura of invincibility in MMA dies. I forget who said it but it was something to the effect of "if you don't have losses, you haven't fought the right guys." or something like that... MMA is not boxing, going 30-0 in the regional/national scene before being groomed for the spotlight is not how MMA works.

Hopefully hype trains as a UFC practice die. The backlash they engender is obvious

no way in hell. they're looking for the next Big Thing as we speak. rumor is Hulk Hogan is available.

I think people are just starting to wake up to the idea that all this talk about the talent base advancing massively under the UFC monopoly is actually bullshit. Theres a really serious issue with a lack of exciting younger talent in MMA hence having to go so crazy when he does get his hands on someone like McGregor.

In 2-3 years I think the sport is going to be facing a massive crisis in terms of talent personally as the last of the telent base devolped by other orgs starts to decline.

You all forget that Dana's #1 job is to rake in cash for the UFC. He'll attach his name to a box of generic corn flakes if it means more $$$ for the UFC and subsequently... Himself.

Will UFC/Dana now learn not to play favorites and not to nuthug fighters?

Been saying this for years they need a unified ranking system. But they are ruled by the almighty dollar and not integrity sadly so this will never happen. I don't know what's worse for the fighters no ranking system or the Reebok deal

Lol at the guys celebrating the loss of what makes MMA great (and the reason they are on this site).

The problem really is that the UFC isn't run for the good of the sport long term its run as a cash cow for maximum short term profit. Theres not nearly enough investment in bringing talent into the sport from the UFC and instead when a Rousey or a McGregor or a Lesnar does fall into their laps they hype them like crazy.
