The 2022 jynx thread - disaster predictions

Not a disaster but I bet we get our first openly gay male fighter this year. Honestly he will probably make bank off of it.
After Izzy comes out the closet it will be the first openly gay fighter and champion !

No one can predict the future, but at least let’s go on the record for our specific disaster predictions for 2022. Since I don’t believe in hexes, jynxes and other superstitious crap, I take no responsibility if any of these come true.

Here is mine:

Jon Jones will finally sign up for a HW fight in 2022. UFC will make some great promos and there will be lots of anticipation for that fight. Tickets will be sold out, and the forums will buzz with excitement. Exactly 3 days before the fight, Jones will get involved in a car accident and be charged with another DUI, and the main event will be scrapped.

Your turn.
Just to get some community service and a fine, then start shit posting on Twitter how he’s a changed man and how God has a plan for him…

You ain’t fooling anybody Jon…

A Jones-Ngannou title fight happens, but ends in a double DQ on simultaneous eye pokes where neither fighter can continue, resulting in the HW title being vacated.

Every since Jeremy Stephens gave Drakkar Klose whiplash during their staredown, Dana's gotten paranoid, won't let fighters get within three feet of each other, and now staredowns are lame af. How homoerotic can you get from that far away?

Maybe Dana will make exception for this one

Could also be like this if nothing else:

I just want an actual rivalry match dammit.

Yan loses by DQ again, never getting another title shot because Aljo remains reigning champion for another decade.

Junior Albini is brought in as a last minute replacement for Derrick Lewis (withdraws due to a BBQ related injury), in what would be Cyril Gane's first title defense as UFC HW Champion (after winning title from Ngannou at 270). Better options are all booked or out with the Sigma variant of COVID-19.

Albini shocks the world by subbing Gane in the first minute of round one via standing heel hook after an initial mid-kick by Gane awkwardly gets stuck in Albini's diaper.

And new!

Due to damn Covid they have to schedule events in Abu Dhabi. A top guy won't get his visa, scratching a bout that's anticipated. Depressing.

Less so: Islam loses to Oliveira and Khabib announces he's coming back to fight Do Bronx for the title. Maybe most anticipated LW fight ever.

I got another crazy one, but I wouldn't call it a disaster for the fans. Probably more of a disaster for the UFC.
Alex Caceres(19-12) is currently on the best winstreaks of his career with 5 wins in a row. In a suprising upset he beats Yusuff by 1st round SUB.

The UFC acknowledges him by giving a high ranking opponent in Yair Rodriguez(A rematch between the two), thinking that it would be an easier win for Yair this time around. It ends being a close 3-round fight full of spinning shit with Alex winning a close decision.

After Volk beats Zombie(pretty dominantly), the UFC re-books the 3rd Holloway fight later in the year. Alex Caceres will be on the same card fighting Ortega for his return.
3 days before the fight Holloway pulls out due to another injury and the UFC are forced to find a replacement to save the card. They can't use Ortega due to him coming off a loss to Volk in a title bout as his last fight.
So they go to the next man in line, Alex Caceres.

Volk being unprepared for such a style difference on 3 days notice, he gets troubled by Alex's unorthodox striking which leads to him being knocked down by headkick in the 1st. Caceres takes his back and sinks in a rear-naked choke on the still stunned australian. He becomes world champ in a massive upset and the title won't be defended until 2023, Alex Caceres ends 2022 as the Featherweight champion of the world.

Gane will shit his pants while walking out to his fight and he will have to go back to change and be the first person in the ufc to get two entrances in one night.
