I ugh……I know that this is “just a dumb karate forum”, and at the end of the day I always try to keep it light and fun and try not to take sherdog too seriously. But I’ve found myself being completely isolated due to Covid and the nature of my work, and it’s been like that for 2 or so years now and quite frankly without this sub and it’s posters I think this whole thing would have been even harder than it has been.

Y’all some of the realest dudes I’ve ever met and I really appreciate all the kind words and nominations.

That said though, @Zebra Cheeks I feel the exact same way. When Covid hit, I was stuck at home for almost six months as I've got a inhalation condition and had to work remotely for months. I was alone for a long period of time. I was sitting around doing almost nothing but playing games and doing random bullshit.

When the fights came back, it felt like a small piece of the world set itself straight and I re-dedicated myself to the forum. I absolutely cannot state how much I've enjoyed the PBPs and how much fun they were when I lost the ability to hang out with my buddies who I had been watching fights with for about a decade.

So cheers to this forum. I appreciate you guys. Have a safe and happy holidays. I'm going to drink to that.

@Kryptt - Often starts and maintains Play by Play threads in the worldwide section. Tags others who are interested with a bat signal. Just add your name to the list and / or tag him if you want on or off. Simple as that. Watches and enjoys tons of fights from all around the world. Makes all the PbP threads a pleasure to visit.

@Hellowhosthat - Provides a running list of fighters to look out for based on their records and performances. Keeps it updated with notes and comments in the worldwide section here. If you want to discuss or learn more about prospects please visit his threads.

@Better Every Day - Often starts and maintains threads on up and coming fights. Often includes polls, which are fun. Updates them frequently with newer information. Thanks to all who do so.

@Bobby Boulders - One of the coolest sharpest posters here. Often contributes to international Play by Play threads and has a strong love of good fights from all around the world.

@TARTARA - Enthusiastic, smart and friendly. Never afraid to ask about things or share information. Great addition to Play by Play and Shoop threads.

@KazDibiase - A picture is worth a thousand words. Gifs of fights, even more.

@Ladder Master - Same as above, often in the PbP threads, and with great humor.
 
So "The Heavies" use Korean pop memes to convey insight and positive contributions regarding MMA lol?
 
Some mods & staff I love:

@Jackonfire - Helps set up the biggest play by play threads, weigh-ins and press conference threads. Relaxed and chill. This master of musical knowledge helped start and maintain threads like 'What Are You Listening To?' and 'Bakers Dozen' - great ways to interact with people here while having fun. My role model for everything a poster here should be.

@bigwaverider - Senor Shooptastic. Keeps the shoop threads going well by being friendly and diplomatic. Always helpful and cool to everyone. He and all the shoopers provide the most laughs here. Aloho and mahalo!

@Zebra Cheeks - Smart, funny, cool and helpful. My mentor in helping me learn more about modding here.

Three new mods who have helped a lot:

@Rebelfett - Hilarious poster who makes me laugh a lot and doesn't take bullshit from anyone.

@Substance Abuse - Knowledgeable, down to earth and cool.

@giovanni_ss - Brings joy and happiness to every thread. Really knocked it out of the park with the Christmas shoops making santa hats and hilarious avatars for all. Didn't even know this poster before this year and has become one of my favorite posters.

@Valhoven - Fair, measured and friendly. Really goes the extra mile in keeping mods updated and always courteous in doing so. Much appreciated.

@JayPettryMMA - Read this poster's stories and play by play descriptions on the front page of Sherdog. Truly outstanding coverage of all forms of MMA.

This isn't is the easiest award to choose for, as there's only ten people who will be nominated, but there's a ton of people who are definitely deserving. From the Play by Plays to random posts and hilarious shoops that have brought happy tears to my eyes, I love this place and the following posters are those who have made it that much better this past year.

Thanks for the shout out, bud. My rep here isn't as strong as it once was, what, with all of the time away. But I always appreciate the vets that still throw my name out there for things like this.

I love this place and missed it a lot when I was gone, and the reception I've received upon my return has really been overwhelmingly positive. It is great to come back and see that they've decided to put the site in the hands of guys like you, @Rebelfett, @Substance Abuse, and some of the other newer mods. Your class, coupled with the class that has been going strong for about five or six years now, is the best group of mods this place has had since I've been here.

Thank you all for contributing and making this place interesting and a fun place to be. People seem to forget sometimes that you all became mods bc you were the posters with substance, the ones with things to offer. You're the kind of guys who always keep me coming back. Thank you.
