News The 2020 Likepocalypse

Oh no this sucks, I had so many Likes Received because I was everyones favorite on here, was getting close to 200k, may have hit it by end of the year. All that effort @Wadtucket put in too, all those beautiful memories of waking up to see I have 90 notifications, and all Wadtucket Likes. This hurts

So, this is Wadtucket's fault?

Just get rid of them. The worst posts on this board are always transparent like-bait attempts. It would genuinely improve the quality of the discussions going on, if they were gone.

Look at The War Room, easily over half the posts in that place are from people who are just trying to get likes from their team. Without that, all that's left is conversation.

The discussions were shit before the like system, they're still shit with the like system, and they'd be shit if you removed the like system.

I think the like system is helpful because it gets rid of simple posts like "+1" or "agree!". I know I used to make those small useless messages, and now I just hit "like" when I agree but have nothing more to say to contribute.

Alright, here's the deal man. Tech has reset Like counters to zero. They did this because the system was getting too clogged up - you may have noticed serious browsing issues the last few months, and this is why.

Please don't e-suicide your accounts because of this. We know this sucks, and that they meant a lot to some of you, but it was either this or have a janky forum. Parent company went with the former.

Tech has also implemented a limiter for standard accounts, where posters should only be able to like a certain number of posts each day. This also applies to profile posts and comments as well.

Man @TheSpider is going to commit suicide. All he does is fishing for likes and bragging about it.

i find it funny as hell that some people on here was farming likes for years being first to threads spamming shitty jokes to get likes, for it all to be gone nothing. LOL
Like that's gonna change.

Why not just get rid of the like system altogether? It's childish.

I used to "block" the "Like-machines" anyway.. so I'm good now.
