Media The ‘best’ boxer in MMA wants to another shot in the UFC

He was fun to watch when the fight was on the feet.

Problem was his grappling sucked. No TDD or sub threat off his back.

I haven't been watching him since he left but I'd welcome his re-signing, theres fun fights for him against Williams, Peireira, EZDS, or Li to name a few.

He is pretty good and a pretty powerful boxer in the pocket lol. Not sure why he’s not in the UFC he needs to get signed ASAP.

He was giving Leon Edwards the blues before that RNC.

Nah. Smiling Sam Alvey has his spot.

Not a good look for Triller when a guy just fought under you, and is messaging the boss man for another organization for a job.

No need to waste time. He chose to test the waters and look what happened. And now he deserves to comeback after a triller win ?

No way no how, put the pipe down
Scott Sigmon is a journeyman but he has fought some quality opponents over the years and is no slouch. His win should turn heads as it is, fighting for Triller is not the right angle to negotiate a contract though.

He went 5-3 on the UFC, then 5-0 in MMA and 1-0 in boxing since then, and is still only 29
He should probably come back

Contender series is generally low level prospects being funneled into the UFC and diluting overall talent. The fact that its the most abundant way they sign guys means some will pan out as great similar to TUF. Still Doesn't change if they combed the planet globally for the best fighters and prospects the UFC would look a lot different.
Contender series is a means to under pay fighters instead of going around the world and scooping up the studs. Which they still do the latter but it is much more costly to do so, which is why the pretender series is pushed so.

Lorenz Larkin & Jouban ? When ? 6 years ago <Lmaoo> His last mma fight was two years ago . He ducked his contract renewal and relinquished his belt. And now fights a 5 year older washed up boxer and he's ready for UFC again ? Go pick up another strap in B leagues try again.

You obviously don't know much about Martial arts.

you're new here, 1st day on Sherdog.
Tread softly Mr Newbie or you won't last.

????
Gegard Mousasi laid waste to everyone on his final 8 fight deal and although itd be awesome to have him back , he ain't fighting for peanuts. He gave them 90 days FFS and their counter offer was somewhat competitive but not good enough.

The best boxer / mma( and still.....)

You quoted my post to double down on what I was already saying. The why is obvious.

This is a myth. There is literally no difference between contender series guys and direct hires. They grab them all from the same pool of fighters
No some direct hires come from competing and bigger promotions. Contender series is more the regional promotions. But they also grab from regionals and do direct hires if they need fighters asap. Happens all the time for last minute fights. Contender is better for those regional fighters though because they get more promotion compared to being a direct hire coming from the regional scene. They will miss out on the extra promo given on the Contender Series. But some fighters may prefer the direct hire route compared to going through Contender Series.

I don't know, but he blanked the boxer who fight fought decent guys. He is still young so I wouldn't be surprised if he came back to ufc

The same one they threw shots at during the event lol, i guess he wasnt paid that much in the end he was a "prelim" there, probably Perry and up made decent money, if anything he should get another Triad fight, he did just fine.

The dude is 18-3 in his last 21 pro fights.
He WAS in the UFC but got chopped after just 2 losses in a row (both subs).

He really should be hired again.

He walked for a better contract in ACB because he had no leverage from coming off two losses.

ACB, ACA and Triller aren't great bargaining chips so if he wants an above average contract, he'll be shit out of luck.

It was true, but we saw very few direct hires this past year in general so in turn this last season of contender had the strongest pool of fighters yet.

tbf when I did the stats a while ago I think the records of contender series fighters vs direct hires was about the same.

I remember Tumenov being highly regarded when he was in the UFC. I remember hearing that he wasn't cut though. He chose to leave after 2 losses.

He isn't bad but he left to test free agency.

Id agree, they’re just trying to build their name a bit before they fight in the UFC, smart
