Jesus.

How do these same judges keep their jobs?

Surely the bookies don’t like this shit right?

Bukauskas did nothing to get that W.

I have to imagine at this point, with judging being universally questionable EVERY card, that betting plays into them remaining exactly where they are. Somehow nobody has been fired, reprimanded or publicly castrated? PPV sales are down, down, down. UFC has their hands deeeeeeep in the betting world.

I could have sworn it was a split decision where one judge found it 30-27 for one guy and the other judge called it 30-27 for the other.

Is it me, or does that rarely happen?

Bookies make their money on the spread, the vigorish. They don't care what the result is unless they've not managed their book

I thought Bukauskas won 1 and 3. He was outlanded, but numbers aren't everything. I thought he landed the most significant shots in round 1 and more clearly outworked him in round 3.

Why would the bookies care? If they're doing their job right they make roughly the same money on a fight whoever wins the vast majority of the time and they make the same money in the long term across a broad spectrum of fights regardless.

Besides, they're in a better position with withstand variance that their bettors are, and somewhat higher variance probably decreases the smart money bet on fights while doing nothing to slow down the stupid addicts.

Point shaving in college sports was so prevalent that the FBI had a division for it. The NBA referee who was caught fixing games admitted flat out it was organized criminals that operated sports books that approached him. Bookies who can make money off of inside information don't care about the legality or ethics.

Yeh I'm sure there are many exceptions but you're describing a specific exotic bet favour.
For an honest book, well balanced, they aren't even negatively impacted by cheating.

I think the last time that happened they pulled the judge right after. I believe it was for a tai tuivasa fight.
