That Arm Triangle wasn't even in, Yair just got gassed and quit

He was already half way out, they were basically in the back position, all he had to do was go telephone, backwards roll, and/or continue turning that same direction he was already going..

But yes you are correct about Yair not being a ground wizard lol

He was too tired, he wasn't getting out, doubt he even had the energy to roll.

yeah fuck that mehicano manlet

has no heart

MMA fans - “the choke wasn’t that deep, he quit”

The choke
danmillerbrutalguillotine.gif
Imagine being in the middle of a fist fight and the last thing you hear before you go to sleep is both your and your opponents stomachs just grumbling lmao

Also OP please allow someone to put you in the same position after punching you the previous 5 minutes, I will volunteer as a partner if need be. Yair threw the kitchen sink at Ortega in the first, it fell just a little short, and he got overwhelmed by a far superior ground fighter. No shame in that.

And just like that Ortega is back in the game.

I dunno why anyone is surprised. Yair has always been a one trick pony.

None of these wannabe warriors wouldn’t be able to tap in Yairs position, but everyone is a hero on Sherdog

Easiest bet of the night, exactly how the first one was going to finish if not for freak injury. And I say this as someone who wanted Yair to win. Very clean submission, Yair is just lost on the ground.

Lmfao wasn't too long ago when Cruz was fangirling Yair and calling him "one of one"

It's an arm-in ezekiel. He grips behind the elbow, his left forearm wraps around and compresses Yair's right carotid. There should have been space there, but Brian closed it up by going arm-in ezekiel. I do the same thing when guys use the "answering the phone" defense.

Yair also wasted tons of energy jumping in Ortegas guard like a goddamn retard when Ortega was badly wobbled and would have been target practice on the feet.

Yair has negative fight IQ... and he is one of the biggest frontrunners I have ever seen.
If he isn't winning he folds.

_______

20ish years of following the sport pretty closely and Chuck Liddell remains the only striker who was consistently smart enough to not jump in guard and help his rocked opponents recover.
Same with clinching. Strikers fall into the clinch all the time and then remain there. It's as if there's a switch in their mind that once they hit the clinch or get into their opponent's guard their brain says "I guess we're grappling now" instead of getting back to where they want the fight to be.

do you really look at it as 1-1? Yair won because of an injury. It's tough to count that as a legitimate win imo.
I don't know. The whole debate at the time was that Ortega hurt himself escaping the submission that Yair put him in in the first place. If I put you in a kneebar and you pop your knee trying to get out of it.... I mean.....

He got injured from a locked in submission. That’s like discrediting mir’s win over Sylvia because it was an injury.

it wasn't tight
yair gave up like he always does
