It's an arm-in ezekiel. He grips behind the elbow, his left forearm wraps around and compresses Yair's right carotid. There should have been space there, but Brian closed it up by going arm-in ezekiel. I do the same thing when guys use the "answering the phone" defense.

Same with clinching. Strikers fall into the clinch all the time and then remain there. It's as if there's a switch in their mind that once they hit the clinch or get into their opponent's guard their brain says "I guess we're grappling now" instead of getting back to where they want the fight to be.

I don't know. The whole debate at the time was that Ortega hurt himself escaping the submission that Yair put him in in the first place. If I put you in a kneebar and you pop your knee trying to get out of it.... I mean.....
