Remember in the early days of the Trump presidency when conservatives used to mock liberals for our "hysterical" "overreactions" to Trump's egregious behavior and disregard for long established norms?
Remember when our warnings that Trump had a tyrant's disposition and a sociopath's moral compass were met with responses of "Liberalism is a mental disease?"
Well, here we are: the President of the United States (I can't believe I am typing this) is claiming BOLDLY, OPENLY AND IN PUBLIC to be above the law...
Republicans, this is on you. Every time you excused one of Trump's egregious behaviors because he supported a policy you like... every time you bought into his absurd narrative of being persecuted by the "deep state" or the "fake news" because it played into your sense of self-righteousness...
THIS is what you have gotten us. A President who is on the verge of declaring his own absolute power.
And still, the Republican leadership in this country and the rank and file Republican voters themselves say NOTHING.
We are all paying for your reprehensible cowardice, absolute LACK of principles, and unfathomable hypocrisy (imagine what your response would have been if Obama had openly spoken of self-pardon of blanket immunity from the law, lol).
