So I was bored and browsed some YouTube vids when I stumbled across this

I haven't seen the other movies on the list, but his reasons for T1 not aging well are horse shit. It starts out with criticisms that could be levied against any movie from the 80's such as clothing styles, music, etc (which is a total bullshit complaint since it's a time travel movie and is supposed to take place in 1984, so of course their wouldn't be modern clothing and shit), but whatever.

Then the dude goes fucking full retard and says the movie isn't empowering to women and that the terminator is only killing her because she's going to be a mother?! What the flying fuck?!?! Did he not watch the end of the movie after Kyle Reese is blown to hell and she crushes the terminator in the compressor while delivering the classic 'you're terminated fucker!' line?!?

And she's not being targeted just because she's going to be a mother, she's being targeted because she gives birth to the fucking leader of the human rebellion in the future.

And she's a 'damsel in distress' in the beginning because she's a fucking twenty-something waitress! Why would she be equipped to handle a killer robot from the future at this point in the movie?!?! That's how movie protagonists work, they change over the course of the film.

Jesus fucking christ, this is just some of the stupidest fucking shit I've heard all day.

Sorry for the rant, T1 is one of my favorite movies so this really agitated me. Tech-Noir scene ftw

Yea, I dont like those reasons either. That said most 80s movies age bad and look silly nowadays, especially sci-fi ones like terminator. It seems like 80s overdid it with the corny music, weird styles, and tin-man robots. Hell, just look at RoboCop.

With that said. 80s movies have a certain special nostalgic entertainment quality no decade can touch.

Retards are making retarded videos and keep getting views from other retards

Stop being retarded

Idiots at Looper vs. James Cameron's masterpiece.

Ranger Stott vs. Mark Kerr.

Zulu vs. Fedor.

Dos Caras Jr. vs. Cro Cop.

Jeremy Bullock vs. Travis Fulton.

The Terminator is as close to a perfect movie as you will ever see.

I know right? The pacing is incredible, especially considering how bloated some of Cameron's later movies are. The tech noir and police station shootout are some of the best action set pieces ever.

I'm willing to listen to valid criticisms of the movie, but you can't start spouting out garbage like 'hur dur it's sexist needs more female empowerment!' especially when it doesn't even apply to the movie.

Lol you could add Frank Shamrock vs Igor Zinoviev

The ironic thing is that these mass produced "top 10" lists and the voiceover "people" who work on them always give the impression they've been created by a computer, maybe AI looking to get viewers to stop paying attension to Terminator? <45>

You got to see Linda Hamilton’s tits for a few seconds in terminator though.

Those flashbacks Michael beihn has are terrifying too.

What Cameron accomplished with his budget is nothing short of astounding.

And those flashbacks (and the whole vision of the future) work so well because Biehn gave one of the most underrated performances of the last 50 years.

Not to take anything from a thread...

Comes out on 17th. Amazon

Lost. Perfect response<45><Lmaoo>

Not even watching the video in the OP. Anyone who doesn't believe Terminator to be one of the greatest films ever made needs to be sterilised. With a machete:mad: :sniper:

Biehn absolutely kills(no pun intended)every scene he's in. And has some of the most iconic lines in cinema.

"It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or fear, or remorse. And it absolutely will not stop - ever - until you are dead!"

"He'll find her. That's what he does. That's ALL he does! He'll cut her throat and pull her fucking heart out!"

Reese is a battle-hardened soldier who has been fighting Terminators for most of his life. So it brings it home to the audience just how dangerous Arnold is when Reese is freaking out. There are subtler moments as well, when he's talking to Hamilton, and you realise just what this guy has gone through, that his entire life has been a brutal struggle for survival against a relentless foe. War isn't what he does, it's what he is. There is literally nothing else in his life. When Sarah asks what the women are like in Reese's time, he simply replies,

"Good fighters".

Sarah(touching the scars on Reese's back)"So much pain..."

Reese, "Pain can be controlled. You just disconnect it"

He did everything he needed to do in order to be someone who grew up in and survived a deadly post-nuclear wasteland before the cameras started rolling.

He has on performances and off performances, but this was like Rocky Balboa rising to the occasion when it mattered the most.

Considering the budget, the scene where the machines are crushing humans skulls is chilling. Also, it's clear that Reese is suffering from what we now recognise as PTSD.

I rate his Terminator performance even better than Aliens and only beaten by his GOAT role as Johnny Ringo:cool:

Don't undersell The Abyss.

It was one of those films like Rocky where it seemed like The Almighty reached in and made everything go just right artistically. Brad Fiedel's score was something else, and (like several others aspects of the movie) had to be completely on point to make it all work.
