Every once in a while someone creates a thread asking for recommendations on what shows to watch, and everyone replies with basically the same shows. The other day someone mentioned it would be good to have a mega thread as a resource, so here we go.

People can submit the names of shows they consider worthy, and I'll update the OP with the name of the show, links to the IMDB and WIKI pages, and an image that serves as the poster for the show (it will have to be a link to an image due to the limit of images you can post).

If you would like to submit a detailed recommendation, write RECOMMENDATION at the top of your post and I'll link to it here.

one more time.

Not mentioned in the first post.

Dexter
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Heroes (first two seasons)
Da Ali G Show
Chapelles Show

Stop what you're doing and only pay attention to me.

Watch Psych.

I think Attack on Titan has broken into the mainstream enough to be viable for a TV show recommendation.

I know LOST gets shitted on a lot around here, but still to this day, one of my all-time favorite series.

From the intricate and deeply intertwined storyline, to the top-notch writing and production, to some of the most interesting and well-developed characters I've ever seen on TV.

Game of Thrones has since overtaken it as my favorite all-time show, but after that LOST ranks at the top, for me...

I think it'd be a good idea to put reviews of the shows (a paragraph long done by fellow Sherdoggers) in spoilers under each one. Unless you have other plans for those posts you reserved.

FARGO. Currently sits at 9.2

Friday Night Lights
Homicide: Life On The Street
OZ
Parenthood
Southland
The Shield

What about Mad Men? Although I'm not a huge fan of that show, I'm pretty sure it's one of the most critically acclaimed TV series of all time.

Most already mentioned; a few more that are deserving:

Spartacus
X-Files
West Wing
Twin Peaks
Californication
The Fall (British)
Six Feet Under
Deadwood
Carnivale

I'm super busy tonight but I'll start adding these tomorrow.

Also:

Submitting names in the format I use would be incredibly helpful as it looks like it's going to be very, very time consuming.
