Thick, Solid, Tight.

Weidman working the bag with Wonderbread. He looked pretty good in a losing effort during his last grappling match at Polaris against an elite Judoka. He was also giving up some weight in the match, ultimately lost a close decision.

What do you guys expect from Chris Weidman's return to MMA?

I don't know that it will save him, unfortunately. I wish Chris all the best, but I think his best years passed him by long ago and he's chosen to come back late in life after a career-altering injury against a stylistic nightmare in Tavares. Brad is a guy who would've given him fits and potentially even beaten him even before the leg snap against Hall. Now? I think he forces Chris to wrestle himself into exhaustion, stuffs most of the takedowns, survives any bad spots on the ground, and then starts stringing together combinations to win by lopsided Decision or late TKO.

He is fighting Brad Tavares. He should do alright.

Sure Brad is not an elite guy and never has been able to reach that level; he's a bit of perennial Top 10-15 generalist, but the one skill that he's always been really good at is TDD. He's also never been submitted and has solid cardio. He's a bad match-up for Chris IMO.

Ya gotta love the bromance between Chris and WB.

Looks like Chris got a similar haircut and now he's doing karate too.

I remember him training with WB for one of his last couple of fights and coming out in an attempt to simulate Stephen's stance against... I want to say it was Omari, but I'm not sure. He bounced around for like 10-15 seconds at the start of the first and then you can visibly see him go "Oh fuck that, that shit's tiring as hell" and immediately gets a bit more flat-footed and squaring up his stance as usual. Not hating or anything, but it got a chuckle out of me at the time.

I think he has a fair chance against Tavares, but seems like most people believe Tavares knocking him out is all but guaranteed. :( I dunno, any particular result doesn't seem so obvious to me.

He doesn’t Wonderboy very well at all

Scrolled down and seen the “Steam Rolla” Frevola is a big boy between fights LoL

Agree with you here Tavares is one of those guys who’s just going to be a tough out for anyone whose path to victory is grappling. Teh Chris might get fucked up in this fight.
