Tecia Torres vs. Michelle Waterson

Tecia won that. Very strong showing for her tonight. Impressive.

Disappointing for Michelle. Can't seem to string some wins together.
They should have put her against ABC. And made Magana/Casey and Herrig/Torres.

no...

its effective striking and grappling dependant on which dominates the bulk of the round

then, only in the instance of effective striking or grappling being equal do they defer to aggression and octagon control

so in the second round the primary criteria is grappling and waterson clearly had the better of the grappling

therefore, aggression and octagon control criteria would not even be used

So no, you dont know how the 10pm scoring system works
I understand all that and I went by that when I made my post. Yes, I do understand.

Tecia's grappling was more effective, because she attacked with subs. That made it more effective.

Were you to somehow consider it even at that point, you'd go to aggression, like you say, which Tecia also won.

Were you to somehow consider it even at that point, you'd go to control, which Michelle won.

How are you claiming Michelle's grappling was more effective? Because she held Tecia down? What's good about that? It gained her nothing, in terms of fighting advantages

Waterson still looking terrible for a point striker...Didn't see any improvement the hype train may be coming off the rails
It's hard to beat someone that strong... Waterson doing pretty good for a girl

Had it 30-27 Torres, even though I was rooting for Waterson..

Yeah, she got the TD in round 2, but the entirety of the strikes and submission attempts where from Torres from the bottom. Karate Hottie was just trying to hold on and barely much else.

Wow, it was shocking how strong Torres was compared to Waterson. I thought they would be roughly the same since they are close-ish to the same size and Waterson has been trying to put on muscle for the division, but they weren't even in the same universe strength-wise, and that was bad news for Waterson since she does a lot of her best work in the clinch and on the ground.

I'm also shocked that Torres *still* couldn't get the finish. Waterson was clearly done early in the third round, and Torres still didn't close the deal.

terrrible fight and they placed Andrade-Gadelha on japanese card, Kowalkiewicz on polish card, so top of the division isn't even fighting on big cards
Joanna, Gadelha, Andrade, Kowalkiewicz bless (and Rose too :D)

TBF, isn't that only in the new judging? And hasn't this place not accepted those rules?

Or is new judging and the new ruleset two independent things?

well two of the judges disagreed with you

nah, the new judging includes damage as a factor and more open criteria and guidelines for 10-8 rounds

the old judging is effective striking/grappling, and hten if level agression and octagon control

As all women who get pregnant, they have huge gape, so not as easy as before to do mawashi geri

I understand Detroit cheering for Eddie.
They can empathize with a once booming business being upended by foreign competition that used them to boost themselves and go on to bigger and better things off their backs.

Waterson is feeling pretty overhyped now, you could overlook the loss to Rose after what happened, but now she's struggling with someone who is a mid-tier fighter.

She just can't compete. I think that she will play the role of gate keeper from here on.
