I don't want this to turn into a tranny discussion so much, I just wonder why they would sue a person who saved someone from worse injury. I know she is suing Target, this is the kind of thing politicians should comment it on. Not going after someone who was a hero in a dangerous situation.

In 2013, everyone agreed that Michael Turner saved the life of a teenaged girl who was attacked in a Pennsylvania Target store. Now, Target is suing him.
When she was sixteen, Allison Meadows was shopping in an East Liberty, Pennsylvania, Target store when Leon Walls rushed into the outlet and stabbed her.

With the assistance of surveillance video, Walls was convicted of attempted homicide for his attack on the girl.

The only reason the girl did not suffer more injuries is because Michael Turner interceded and, along with several other men, confronted Walls. Turner himself chased Walls out the store with a baseball bat.

Unsurprisingly, Meadows was extremely thankful for Turner’s efforts.

“I thank him,” Meadows has said. “I thank him every time I see him.”

But Meadows launched a lawsuit against Target, saying the store’s lack of security put all shoppers, not just her, in danger.

Target, however, is less grateful for Mr. Turner’s heroics. And now the retailer is suing him for “endangering” the store’s customers.

According to the company’s filing, Target says Turner and several others chased the suspect toward the store’s entrance after the attack on the girl. The store insists Turner put other shoppers at risk with his actions.

The victim of the stabbing and her family are furious with the retail chain and say Target is just trying to shift the blame away from its own security failures.

“Suing Michael Turner is just Target’s way of trying to blame someone else for what happened under their own roof,” the Meadows family attorney said. “The family certainly doesn’t blame Mr. Turner and they are thankful he was there that day.”

Target is already getting negative publicity; the chain is the subject of a major boycott effort due to its announcement that it is allowing men to use women’s bathrooms and changing rooms.

Despite the uproar over its decision–not to mention the loss of up to $6 billion in stock valuesTarget doubled down on its policy.

Does Target just want to go out of business ? and the tranny issue even if you are for or against you shouldn't be that public about a hot issue, it isn't good business.

In 2013, Michael Turner saved the life of a 16-year-old girl who had been viciously attacked and stabbed in a Target store in Pennsylvania. And instead of thanking him for protecting its customers and preventing them from being murdered, Target is now suing him for his heroism and alleging he acted irresponsibly.

The attacker, Leon Walls, was convicted of attempted homicide for stabbing then-16-year-old Allison Meadows in 2013.

Security footage from the store shows Walls grabbing Meadows and stabbing her before Turner tackles the knife-wielding perp and chases him out of the store with a baseball bat.
Also from the article
"Target’s policy has raised questions nationwide about whether men who merely claim to be women should be allowed in the same bathroom as women. On Monday, a female security officer at a Giant supermarket in Washington, D.C., was arrested after telling a man to leave the women’s restroom in the store. In Toronto, a serial sexual predator pretended to be a transgender woman named Jessica in order to prey on women at a battered women’s shelter."

According to the criminal complaint, the incident began when Walls stabbed a man named Jobe Wright near a construction site on nearby Highland Avenue. Police said Walls ran down the street toward Penn Circle and into Target, followed by Wright, his friend Michael Turner, and Tyrique Walker, who called 911 to report their location, and Roland Smith, who grabbed a baseball bat to help Wright.

Once they were all inside the store, "Walls saw Walker and attempted to stab him with a large swing at his neck area," the complaint said. "Walls, missing his target, then moved towards the checkout area at the Target store where he began trying to stab additional victims who were in the store. Walls then grabbed Allison Meadows and held her against her will at knifepoint in one of the checkout lanes to use her as a shield. Victims Hosea Davis, Mike Turner, Jobe Wright and Roland Smith attempted to subdue Walls and to free Meadows when they saw him poke the knife into Meadows' back."

Wow I missed that, thanks

Both suits should be dropped.

Target is not at fault for the girls injuries

I agree, how many stores are there were you don't see a security guard? It is sad she is suing Target and sadder Target is suing the dude. But then again, Murica ! lawsuits will get you rich

Sounds to me like everyone should be suing Walls. Target isn't to blame for Walls being crazy, neither is Turner.

Even if there was security, a knife brandishing man is a police level threat, not something for a security guard.

Who the fuck is running Target these days? Their Canadian roll out was a fucking disaster too. Now they're backing tranny bathrooms is fucking America? RIP Target.

so damn stupid. there should be a law that grants immunity from lawsuits if you're helping someone or doing something for the greater good. I wonder what judges think about these types of cases.

Yea i remember when target came to Toronto, briefly before they packed their shit and went home. They came so fast i didn't even have a chance to visit one.

I used to live less than a mile away from this Target, and I came close to going to it that day shortly before the time of this incident. I was going to get a few things before I went to work, but as I was walking by Target, I said screw it, I'll do it tomorrow. That's one time I'm glad I was lazy.

The convenience store "near the construction site" that this whole thing started at was a shady looking place. Cops were routinely parked across the street as if they were casing it. After this incident happened, that store was promptly shut down.

As for Target's security, there is a podium immediately after you step off the escalator that brings you up to the store that has a guard always stationed at it. Where that guy was during the whole thing, who knows? It's positioned adjacent to the checkout lanes, so he had to have seen it go down. All I know is after this happened, there were newer faces behind that podium.

I think Target should let this go. It looks bad that the victim is still standing behind this Turner guy while they are suing him.

Target and Kmart are being merged in Australia

Relevance? Unsure

How is a security guard supposed to stop Mr Stabby? That's rediculous.
