The exact type of facile, childish sort of attitude I would expect from an ignorant person that seemingly has never heard the opposition to his opinions.

The entire point of soft power is maintaining a decorum, at the least, of a sane adult. Trump cannot do that. That is why he has to resort to idiotic ramblings and diametric flip flopping based on who he is currently talking to.

Ask the Romans about inflating their economy, stretching their army, catering to religious fanatics and not caring about what the sheep think. Ask them how their superiority complex helped them.
