talks are under way for a matchup between Rory MacDonald and Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson.

That sucks, I don't want to see either of their path's to a title shot derailed.
I think Wonderboy takes this fight, his stand up is the scariest in the UFC.

I would have liked to have seen:
Wonderboy vs Lawler
and
Rory vs Condit

Is it me or does it seem like Lawler's next title defense will be against Conor?
 
Great fight. I know Thompson trained at Tri-Star several times with GSP and even Rory. Very interesting to see how this fight plays out. Leaning towards Wonderboy.

Actually that is what i hoped as well. Would have preferred either Condit or Thompson as opponents for Robbie. Woodley goes around he is the Number One contender- guy beat an overweight Gastelum 14 months ago. I know Hendricks missed weight, but Woodley should not get the shot based on that fact alone.

On topic : that's a great fight. I've got to support Rory though. Let's do this !
 
I wouldn't know who to pick. Both are equally sized (i.e., very large WW's). Both are good strikers, with a slight edge going to Thompson because he has kicks. I could see Rory pulling off the win later in the rounds, but Thompson is dangerous in early rounds.

I'd much rather see Thompson vs Lawler for the belt (don't want to see another Robbie/Rory rematch so soon). But, I guess UFC is waiting to see what happens with the McGregor/Diaz fight. They're waiting to see if McGregor deserves the WW title shot.
 
Hate the timing of this fight. Don't get me wrong they are likely to meet eventually but still.

Tough call but I definitely favor Thompson. I feel Rory always would have had trouble with his style but wonderboy has really rounded out his game.

Rory likes to use the jab and his reach/distance to always be out of range. Thompson is also larger and better at using that style than Rory is. He also is more accurate with his strikes and is a better finisher IMO.
 
I like Rory but wonderboy worked Hendricks like no one else, hope it happens though it sucks to see one lose, but that is the business they've chosen.
 
Im guessing they have something planned for Lawler then...Most likely at 200...

Because Thompsons next fight should be a title fight tbh...

I wouldn't be suprised if its Lawler/GSP @ 200
 
Wish Thompson would get the title shot instead.

Doubt Wonderboy will be able to duplicate what he did in his last fight. Rory's fight IQ is quite different from Hendricks'.
