Whats up guys, I was wondering if any of you take time off from training to heal.
I've been training for the past 2 or more years, 3-4 days a week.
Lately, I've had small injuries and body aches. I'm a bit older, mid 30's.
I'm planning on taking 6-8 days off.
How many of you take breaks and for how long?

Take a break. 8 days is nothing in the long term.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Wow, a couple months just seems like a long time, I'll see how I feel after 8 days. If I need a few more days ill decide then.

i had to take off about 5 months because of testicle trauma. its a rough sport

I'm contemplating taking a break too.

Sad - but I popped my rib recently, To go along with a recent thoracic sprain and a car accident that jacked my neck up.

I take a week or two off every couple of months. If I didn't I would be a mess. I train 4 to 5 days a weeks usually.

I take breaks all the time... Intensity breaks are important. I've only been training 2/3 x per week for a couple months.

Listen to your body. My breaks are usually centered around vacations and business trips.

That sucks! Your injuries are more serious then mine. Taking a break may be something you need.

Ribs are the worst. I have bruised ribs right now and my life is hell.

I thought you were going to take a few months off. A week or so might be a good idea.

If you don't take aspirin, you're not trying hard enough ;)

I am 37 and found that changes to my diet, my supplements, and the spacing of my S&C rest days did wonders for my recovery and seriously reduced injuries.

Well, the gym's closed until the 8th, so it's pretty good timing for me to rehab a sprained toe and strep-throat. That's my idea of a good winter vacation.
