Media Tai Tuivasa: "They're all sh*t"

I love Tai.
Like a less powerfull but more chill Hunto.
Maybe he needs to get his angry Australasia angst back and less THC.
Huh? i dont about that, the only thing Tuivasa and Hunt has in common are both being from OZ and being Samoan. When it comes to skills, Mark Hunt is infinitely more skilled than Tuivasa. Tuivasa hasn’t improved in his skills for the time he has been in the UFC, it’s like Cabbage Correa jumped in a time machine and changed his name to Tai Tuivasa, i’ve gotten called a idiot and that i don’t know what im watching, casual etc for even saying he’s unskilled for the last 5 years, only now people suddenly realizing it.

Is he fun & exciting to watch? sure but that only gets you so far, at this point he belongs in BKFC.

He's not unskilled. There are strong flashes of skill in lots of his fights but he bites down and goes all in when it's a firefight. At that point he loses sense of ability and becomes a bar-room brawler.
He fought like a Hunto influenced youngster in his earlier years but simply didn't have that end-game power but of course, they are far from duplicates.

He is more of a Cabbage by default but he can improve significantly if he sticks with it.
I think his 300+ fatso body is more indicative of no discipline and not really wanting to fight any more (perhaps).

He's correct and he's definitely one of the worst, it's funny how he's still on the roster and jair isn't, roze vs Lewis was the fight to make.

Yeah that's why I was thinking. Some guys are cut for less than that but I assume that it's also about fan base.

Some people on here just think being exciting equals being skilled or a good fighter.

So you think a fighter you know will lose every time except vs the absolute dogshit of the division is entertaining?

The UFC is supposed to be for the very best

Go watch Street Beefs if you want that kind of no-skill 'who cares about the outcome' entertainment

no, it is not

Tai is in the running for the worst male grappler/wrestler in UFC history, he managed to get tapped out by tybura in round 1 lol
I will never forget him nearly beating JDS before throwing hammer fists off his back and getting finished.

He was on his way to probably winning. He was looking lean here too.

no, it is not
When you enter the top 10 especially the top 5 of thr division you’re inherently fighting the best at that point. We’re far from the days of so called “GOATs” who are fighting in Japan, wins a title then the following bouts after are against pro wrestlers, fighters making their MMA debut and or fighters way outside the top 10, let alone 25 of the divisions.

A lot of Aussie’s are super straight up to the point that American’s don’t get it.

Also self deprication is a big thing that some aussies do, kinda part of the humour there.

The average American wouldn't recognise self-awareness if it headbutted them in the face.
Tai is right, HW sucks terribly. Himself included.

I dont know what Japan has to do with anything. But there are still plenty of top ten fighters not in the UFC. The majority of the roster are signed with no aspiration of them becoming top ten.

I don't know, 15 years ago we were all saying that the reason HW sucks is because the pool of athlete is small so they all go to sport that pays better. Now that UFC is already mainstream for a while, HW is still the shallowest division by a wide margin.

He’s not wrong. What he’s saying is there always a chance to get back to the top because heavyweights are legitimately not technical and pretty shitty.

If there’s any division you can kind of fluke into the top 10 it’s 100% heavyweight

Exciting fighter and cool personality. Seems like a good man.

I don’t really get the whole drinking out of shoes lark, kinda fucking minging if you ask me…

I can’t believe I’m gonna say this but…could he cut to Light Heavyweight?

He’s got 100lbs of fat on him? Surely…?

He's a fat dude that drinks beer out of other people's dirty, stinky shoes... Do you really think he doesn't consider himself shit as well? Lol
