Curtis did not get dropped by a solid shot. Yeah, he was hit on the ground about 8 times in the head but he was not out and he did not tap. He was in the process of moving body backwards but " Quick " Mark Goddard had his instructions. Every time I see that guy ref, I cringe.

Protect yourself at all times. You can’t get dropped then lay face down and not block a single shot. He was asking for it.

It may have been a bit early but I don’t think it was a bad stoppage.

Yea its a bummer. Now we all have to sit here for 30 minutes while the UFC does a bunch of filler shit for this early stoppage fight.

So I'll post on sherdog :-)

actually kinda way
He got right up wondering how it was stopped

But classily, did applaud the decision.

That was flat out shit

Marc Goddard was the absolute worst choice to pick for this fight with his frequent biases. Ofc the fight was getting stopped on a knockdown from the hometown guy, even Blaydes looked like he expected it.

Agreed. Not crazy Herb "fight fixin" Dean early but a tad early. Still acceptable IMO but would have liked to see it play out just a bit more.

Its a fair stoppage. I dont think he could get up if tom continues to strike him.

Maybe Curtis shouldn't have gotten tagged in the face.

Naw there's not another thread about this exact same thing, in before merge

I give zero fucks about fighters protecting themselves. I'm trying to be entertained at the small price of 80 dollars.

If it was early then it's a bad stoppage.

You have to give guys a chance to find there way out of bad spots, Goddard gave him no chance to find a way out, it was a terrible fucking stoppage.

If you lay face down and block all the shots, the fight's still getting stopped, because that's not considered "intelligent defense." The only way out is to try to get up, which is what Blaydes was doing.

New rules being 5am. gotta wrap this shit up there.

Blaydes was mentally out of the fight once Tom was on his back at that point he had no fight in him.
