I had to re-read this article because it seemed ridiculous.

Apparently, the crown jewels were just on display in a glass box in a cathedral with nobody guarding it other than a burglar alarm. On the upside, the items are pretty hard to fence but, if profit is key, melt price and loose stones will fetch a decent amount. Then again, there could be some very rich and nefarious people who would love to have them as a trophy.

I am guessing they where migrants the only description I’ve heard about the thieves is they appeared non Nordic. Witness in the church also claimed they looked suspicious when they entered the church.
