Surprised so many pros picking Diaz over Henderson

well this guy went and edited a video with ONLY the people saying Nate or "its going to be a tough fight" he put it up and then of course you "perceive" most of the "professionals" pick Nate.... the joke is on you I guess

Coutre picked Diaz and Couture is usually wrong... I actually think he may always be wrong. Who has he picked in Jon Jones's fights? I'm sure he's done predictions for those fights.

the Couture pick hype was hilarious. he was announcing before CC v GG and picked GG, and later when Joe gave him kudos he said "i'm 15fer15" or some shit like that. that's all it took for a bunch of sherdoggers to exclaim "Randy's picking so-and-so and he's always right!" for the next 3 or 4 years.

needless to say, they were saying this even when he went something like 1-6 after that bout.

never let facts get in the way of sherdoggers who are always right, is the lesson here.

since diaz moved back down to lw he's looked better than henderson during that same time frame.

i really hope nate wins, i think he has a good shot too.

it is utterly amazing how nate made gomi, cerrone and miller look like complete cans his last 3 fights.

judging by the last frankie fight i have to say winning a decision isn't going to be easy for nate, i hope he finishes it.

Nate is capable of actually winning the fight. Benson needs to hope he can acquire more points and have the judges award him the fight.

im no expert on randys picking history but a lot of the time these guys are obligated to pick fighters theyre close to.

im not surprised about the pros picks at all. probably because the feel the same way i do. very good matchup that could go either way but leaning towards diaz

You're correct. I recall that as well.

In all fairness to Ben, he beat Miller impressively. He beat a game Guida who had beaten Diaz. Ben/Edgar 1 was as impressive awin as you can expect against a fighter perfectly content to depend on the Judges. The second Edgar fight was even less eventful.
Diaz , contrary to popular conception, has always been a tough fight for anyone. He has matured and does seem somewhat more polished, though Nate would resist that label.
This fight, Ben/Nate, is truly pivotal for Diaz. He must win. Otherwise it is the same old same old; good, up to that point.
We'll see soon enough.

If that is the mentality that Ben comes in with, it will be difficult, indeed, for Nate to win this fight. And I have no dog in the hunt.

probably because he's a fighter's fighter.

and has a great chance to win, given his skill set, cardio, and ever evolving game.

Haha, I can't even take this thread seriously after seeing your AV :icon_lol:

You just dont fuck with teh jesus

I find it interesting that many (people in general, not fighters) have pointed out the success Cerrone had landing leg kicks without acknowledging the damage he received in return, which was a lot.

I think Bendo will win, but if he concentrates on Nate's legs, he'll get punched in the face, a lot. He needs to take this to the ground and rough Nate up, the entire fight, if possible, IMO.
