Surprised Aldo hasn't thrown his name in as a possible replacement for RDA at UFC 196.

He's expressed interest before about competing at lightweight and it would give him instant redemption if he were to win. Also it would probably give him a title shot in his next fight in his choice of either featherweight or lightweight divisions.

He is busy getting workers' shit together at his burger shop.

He did say he was training and staying in shape just in case this would happen, does he get the shot? I don't know.

LMAO @ Aldo taking a fight on two weeks notice

Sounds to me like Aldo's brains are still a bit scrambled from that left hand.

Throwing Aldo in there puts Conor in a weird situation. I'm assuming it would be at LW. It's a tough sell for the UFC coming directly on the heels of a 13 second KO loss. However, if Aldo should win throw him a LW title shot and send Conor back down to FW to defend. I don't think there's any way in hell the UFC goes this route but on short notice there's not a lot of options. Aldo did say he was preparing for this very situation. If he loses to Conor at LW it's puts him in a shitty position of being a long distance from a title shot in either division. I'd watch. I'm thinking it'll be Cerrone tho. He's a fan favorite and willing to fight at the drop of a hat.

yeah if he moved up in weight.. noway conor is gonna be able to cut back down with all the mass he put on for this fight on 2 weeks notice.

he's too small against the new conor and conor sure ain't cutting to 145 now

He'd probably get injured 5 days before the fight while getting out of the plane.

the fact that aldo has been pushed to the sidelines like this considering the legendary run he had is nothing short of a disgrace.

if the ufc were anything close to impartial, the automatic rematch there was a no brainer, and instead they're trying to act like he doesn't even exist anymore because it's inconvenient and doesn't fit in with the conor agenda. absolute BS.

I'm a huge Aldo fan but this new non-zombie apocalypse Conor is massive in comparison to before and that left definitely probably got more lethal. But he wants the rematch so give it to him. If he loses than it's time to become a full time restaurateur for Aldo.

Aldo suspension ended like 10 days ago.

Aldo was embarrassed enough.

It wouldn't surprise me if Aldo is a shell of himself in his next fight

They offered him the fight and he wasn't ready. Despite saying he would fight Connor anywhere, anytime.

aldo is all talk. he took his 5 million and that's that. conor took his soul.

yeah i'm surprised they did that actually.

but he still should have gotten the immediate rematch originally - if anyone deserved it it was him.
