In my definitive Sherdog Prostate thread I discuss my journey with BPH.

In summary, have been on meds for six months. Have now had two urologists tell me the flow increase is not sufficient and that I risk permanent damage to my bladder due to retention.

Next week I'll be having my first ever hospital visit (one night is the plan) and surgery (water jet ablation of the prostate).

I will need to be sedated for the procedure and expect to have a catheter for 3 to 5 days. AMA!

Hope it goes well mate.

I'm awaiting a surgery because I have a condition called Barrett's oesophagus. They need to freeze the abnormal cells in my throat so new, normal ones return.

Thought you're female for some reason...

You got this one bro.

Did you received an iPad? That might be a double edge sword.. on one hand you can maintain yourself entertained during your stay at the hospital.. on the other hand we all know what happens next....

I have an iPhone already...not sure where that puts me on the relationship status ladder...

Yes. And really the only source of nervousness about the whole thing...other than potential side effects.

Trust me, you'll be fine. You'll love the rush of the general anesthesia going into your veins and in your brain. It's a very good high I have to admit. lol
