LOBO!!!!!!

James Gunn's style is so fucking goofy and cringe, and so un-Superman it's crazy. Why is it so hard to give us comics accurate Superman? Something like The Animated Series in live action form? Holy shit. (I said "Superman" but the exact same applies to "Supergirl")

Though I gotta give it props for not being as bad as it could've been. Props to Gunn for keeping the characters physically accurate.

I hope not to far down the road we get a Lobo movie.

They fucked up by not making a Lobo movie with The Rock back when Rock was at his biggest physically. Rock as Lobo is damn near the perfect casting. Forget that Jason Moana nonsense. Though Moana makes a better Lobo than Aquaman.

He is an 11 year old boyscout from 1955 who is invincible. It is not easy to make him a protagonist.

Trailer doesn’t look too bad. I agree that it gives off too much GOTG vibe which isn’t a bad thing but it’s already been done

Jason was born to play Lobo. I saw a picture of him on a motorcycle years ago and said that’s Lobo. He’s probably gonna steal the movie

I’m intrigued but not quite sold just yet

The marvel storylines were some of the ones I loved reading back in the 90s, and still remember, so I had excitement. It felt great to have movies made for what felt like my demographic. I got my wife to watch most of the movies, now she's watching the ones I won't alone.
I like the old school zombie movies. I flaked out early in the modern zombie craze. People took it too seriously. Speaking of serous, I saw black panther opening weekend, the place was packed and my friend and I sat center of row 1 in imax(last seats available, not comfortable) the lobby was full of guys in dashikis talking about wakanda like it was a real place. I was embarrassed to be there

Bro, you must have been at my theater because I saw the same thing: brothas wearing dashikis (they bought from Korean stores lol) and Jordans. I’m like, “why didn’t they dress up as their favorite black Marvel characters?” Then I realized most of them didn’t know shit about Black Panther or Wakanda from the comic books

I remember laughing at those white people who dressed up as hobbits and elves when Lord of the Rings came out. Now I realize my folks ain’t much different

Now if they were dressed up like blade and imitating snipes........ Motherfucker!

It looks like they are actually doing woman of tomorrow, which guardians took a lot from maybe on accident. I don't have faithfully they do it but it's pretty brutal and tragic.
It's usually the canon. She watched everyone she loved slowly die and was the only reason they lived as long, she couldn't keep it up no one could and they all died. It broke her. We will see how they adapt it. It's a semi revenge quest most likely. If they do it right she's going to be a pragmatic idealist who is semi detached, think of amos from the expanse and she comes back from that.
Wasn't familiar with that storyline, so I googled and, according to wiki this IS based on Woman of Tomorrow, but that came out in 2021-2022. How did Guardian take a lot from it? Or is there an older storyline of the same name that they redid?

Farscape comics connection.

The farscape comics guy shifted to sg but kept the feel then eventually made wt.
I should have said that first my bad
Gunn took the template and leaned into it got guardians
Technically it was the Supergirl artist who would eventually make sgwt using the same aesetics as he did with far scape. It's lordo ofthe rings meets 40k

My bad

Does it have the usual recent big 2 comic book diseases?

I’m not sure if anyone is going to want to steal this movie or even take it if they start handing it out on dvd ? If Jason takes credit he might burn down his own super hero status if it’s anything like the preview .
