Overhaul, rebuild whatever the word it wouldn't have been so drastic if Fergie had stayed. It changed everything and once he left we were no different than any other club.
For me the Moyes/Woodward transition season just fucked us lol. We could have purchased Shaw & Herrera that season and shipped off clearly average dead wood players that have taken two more years to get shot of. You think Rio, Vidic & Evra would have all left at once with Fergie in charge? Moyes played a massive part in that, he was the reason Vidic signed with Inter and he did run Rio into the ground. He could have played Jones/Smalling at CB more but instead did what Fergie did and shifted them to RB.
All 3 had been struggling for a while, especially Vidic and Rio. The time was right for them to go, and we should have been prepared for it. We still haven't brought in a class CB........something that has been needed for about 4 years, imo.
