Lol Dirk is the biggest star in Germany and the Gosals are the biggest stars in Spain.

If you took every NBA team and combined them into one super team, they still would be smaller than Real/Barca.

You're right. Bo Diaw made bball big in France.

I wouldn't say it's big. It's honest. Football is first by a good margin, then there is tennis and rugby. After there are sports like basket, handball, F1 who are close in followings.

People only watch the Superbowl for the half time show

How many Super Bowls has Europe won?

Barcelona Dragons forever

I read that MLS is gainging popularity in the US and has been slowly rising too. Once it finish its developpment, it can become a major sport in the USA too.

maybe one day it will pass hockey. but it will never be a major sport in the US.

I am not american so I won't judge, but MLS fans strongly believe it. Football is the closest thing to a true worldwide sport. It's not #1 everywhere, but it's everywhere.

He's hurt Mike! LMAO!!

It'll pass hockey for sure i think in 10 years or so. NBA or NFL won't go away, what will be interesting is where baseball is at in 20/30 years with its popularity in youth declining.

Enes Kanter just got a 70 million contract and I can easily name at least 50 players who I'd rather have in the NBA, and that's with a salary cap involved in the sport. So to be fair that's not really exclusive to soccer

Chris those are just transfer fee's not wages.

LMAO for being that ignorant. Must have drank out of your father's spittoon one too many times as a child.

Never heard of drinking out of spittoons before. Is this a normal thing for soccerball aficionados?

I wasn't sure which thread to post in, but the high level discussion in here is what swayed me
