This movie was more unpredictable and made sense

@Dragonlordxxxxx if there was a pile of 100 dicks, how many of them would this one suck compared to Batman vs Superman? Sounds like your review was relatively kind compared to most critics.

Seems like these dc movies are getting butchered in editing. They need to figure out this disconnect between the vision the director has for the movie and the vision the studio has.

IMO, they need to let the directors do their thing and stop meddling so much.

To answer some of the posts concerning the cellphone. She didn't have it in her cell. The main guard, Griggs his name is i think gave it to her when they get the squad into the helicopter ( the wheelchair scene ). It was edited poorly and it looked like she already had it.

I would hope they release an extended cut of this movie, like they did with Batman vs Superman, to include all the scenes Dragonlord posted that were cut.

My biggest complaint about Suicide Squad was i wanted more Joker, and looking at all the scenes of his they cut this is disappointing.

As i stated before if DC wants to catch Marvel they need to pull out the big guns in there movies. Give us more iconic Batman villains.

yeah that was obvious after the fact and once we figured out that
the main guard was on jokers payroll
but like you say, the editing was done so poorly that with all that was going on, it was very confusing to see that she had the fucking phone in the first place.

There was a scene with Batman cutting through the roof of Joker's car....

SHCISKSOWLSKDJDJDJXIDID FUCK. Release a damn extended edition that's rated-r, give us back all the Joker scenes plus all the other cool stuff, and stop butchering the movies in the editing room!

^ Yes, I would gladly buy this the day of release if it includes an extended cut.

I saw the movie Friday night.

Supremely disappointed with it. I'm usually pretty lenient with comic book movies. I can appreciate just being fun team ups (age of ultron) or a drama examining a serious issue that falls flat or is poorly done (BvS). I gave both of those movies 6.5-7. They weren't great, had plenty of flaws, felt like a chore at times, but overall I didn't mind them and found it decent but not memorable.

This movie was not good. In fact, it was bad. The plot was one of the worst plots I've ever seen in a comic book movie. I rated it a 5, but that was only because of the acting of Margot, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang in his small part, and Amanda Waller. I didn't even mind the Joker, and I'm not someone who feels like characters need to stick with their comic book counterparts.

The movie started off really good. The character intros/back stories were great. Assembling the team was great. The middle, where they had the plot of saving Waller was hot fucking garbage. Some of the worst, uninteresting plot I've ever seen. The ending part was really bad as well, with the showdown between basically 2 god level characters and then the SS.

This movie sucked with the villain and plot. It really brought it down, and I wish enchantress wasn't even in it. It made no sense that the villain had the power to end the world in one fucking night, and a bunch of normal humans with no real power (with the exception of diablo and maybe killer croc) were the ones called in to stop it. Suicide squad if anything should be doing something more covert (the whole plausible deniability thing) with less high stakes. I would have much preferred if this movie was 1/3 background info on each member, 1/3 assembling the team and backstory, and the last 1/3 being joker vs. suicide squad with him trying to get Harley back. Cut out enchantress completely, what a trash character.

I will generously give this shit show a 4/10

Rumor: List of Deleted Scenes from SUICIDE SQUAD Revealed

Suicide-Squad-Joker-Deleted-Grenade-Scene-Dragonlord.png

Suicide Squad reportedly test screened a few months back, and there apparently were two different versions that were screened. To add another intriguing aspect to this situation, a Reddit user shared a list of deleted scenes from the film that showcase a darker tone than the finished product. Now, it must be emphasized that this list of deleted scenes is not official, and further discussion on them is pure speculation. Read the scene descriptions below:
  • “In early cuts, the movie’s opening detailed June Moon’s possession by Enchantress in real tome. Reshoots reshuffled the scene to be later in the movie in flashback form in favour of a new opening centered on Deadshot.”

  • “Deadshot in the prison cell, watching the rain fall and thinking about his daughter.”

  • “El Diablo observing the flame of a lit match, before putting it out due to his vow to no longer use his powers.”

  • “El Diablo being escorted to a training center by being placed in a tube that fills with water to quel his flames, and then unceremoniously dropped onto the ground.”

  • “Early interviews showed Captain Boomerang’s racism and sexism, but the movie is light on examples of such behaviour, which have apparently been deleted. Most of them were reportedly directed at Katana, to whom Boomerang is attracted to.”

  • “Early reports indicated more backstory for Killer Croc, revealing that he entire life as a social outcast due to his physical appearancr and has convinced himself that he is beautiful in his own way. Croc crossed paths with Batman while working as muscle-for-hire for numerous Gotham’s crime bosses, while secretly planning to take over one day. There were also scenes displaying his affinity for making sculptures out of discarded materials. Aside from jokes about Croc viewing himself as ‘beautiful,’ one of these were retained in the final cut.”

  • “Also deleted was a scene where he becomes sick at the helicopter escort to Midway City, throws up half-digested pieces of goat, and then eats them again, disgusting the nearby Navy Seals.”

  • “Early cuts reportedly included a passing reference to Slipknot being serial rapist, likely to further paint him as unsympathetic to the audience ahead of his own death.”

  • “More scenes of Rick Flag and June Moon’s romantic relationship, including him reading the files of the Suicide Squad recruits after Waller delivers them to him.”

  • “Another scene where Flag and Moon are out on a date.”

  • “Extended scene of Joker interrogating Captain Griggs, including the line, “I can’t wait to show you my toys,” which was in every trailer, but was removed from the movie.”

  • “Joker and his men escaping after shooting up a restaurant. Harley, who is already affiliated with the Joker, follows them on a motorcycle and intercepts their car. Joker bangs his head against the glass in frustration.”

  • “Joker and Harley then get into a fight, which ends with Harley pointing a gun at Joker’s head. Joker sweet-talks Harley into lowering the gun, charming her, then backhands her across the face. Afterwards he sweet-talks her again and they kiss.”

  • “Extended Ace Chemicals scene where Harley jumps into the chemicals. More bits of dialogue from Joker.”

  • “Extended Batmobile chase scene with more interaction between Joker and Harley. One of the examples, presented in all the trailers, is the Joker punching the roof of his car.”

  • “Harley using her baseball bat as a mock gun to play shoot at invisible foes.”

  • “Extended scene of Joker breaking into the nanobomb manufacture facility to arrange for Harley’s neck-bomb to be disabled.”

  • “More interactions between Harley and Boomerang. Early cuts apparently included her really disliking him despite growing affectionate to all the other members of the squad.”

  • “Extended bar scene with Harley taking everyone’s orders. Deadshot calls for a shot, Katana wants whiskey, Croc and Boomerang settle for beer, Harley asks Diablo wants and he prefers water which she jokes, “is a good idea.” The scene was featured in the trailers, but in the movie it cuts directly to Deadshot’s speech about them all almost pulling the mission off.”

  • “Removed several scenes with the Joker to repaint his relationship with Harley as more loving rather than abusive.”

  • “Joker and Harley get into an argument after he rescues her in the hijacked helicopter. In early cuts he reportedly pushes her out to kill her, then the helicopter gets shot down. This was apparently reworked into the helicopter getting shot down first and Joker pushing her out to save her.”

  • “Joker returns during the final battle in the subway station, face half-burnt from the helicopter crash, which apparently leads to a brief altercation with the Squad. He calls for Harley to escape with him but she refuses for once in order to help her friends, and the Joker escapes after throwing a live grenade at the group to cover his own escape.”

Rumor: List of Unconfirmed Deleted Scenes from 'Suicide Squad' Revealed

Yeah, I'm out. If they have butchered the movie to such an extent that the trailer is no longer accurate/relevant, they can go and fuck themselves. They aren't getting my hard earned.

Another swing and a miss by Warner Brothers//DC. They are running out of time and good will. Wonder Woman better knock it out of the damn park.

I saw the movie last Thursday. While I agree that it’s not by any means as awesome ad the trailers made it out to be, it’s nowhere near as bad as the critics’ reviews made it out to me. I wouldn’t go see it again if there is something else interesting coming out this week, but I do not regret having seen it.

But I do agree, the movie’s biggest problem is the somewhat incoherent editing. And they relied too much on the text in the characters’ intros to convey critical information that many people in the audience may not have bothered to read, assuming it was all inside jokes.

This movie sucked with the villain and plot. It really brought it down, and I wish enchantress wasn't even in it. I think this part is a bit unfair. The Squad's original mission wasn't to stop the Enchantress. It was to sneak in, rescue Amanda Waller, and then provide cover while she got the hell out of Midway City.

The Squad took it upon itself to fight the Enchantress, but neither Waller nor the Pentagon expected them to do it. You will notice that when Incubus started his rampage, Waller sent in the Enchantress with Flagg to hold the leash. She didn't sent the Squad.

Fine, saving Waller was excusable, but it was only created as a misdirection for the viewers. And yeah the squad took it upon themselves, because nobody else was doing fuck all, whether it be the govt, argus, supes/batman, or anyone else. The world is literally ending and the SS are the only people on the fucking scene? Thats absurd.

Hell even if the joker had gotten Harley and the goal was to bring them in (covertly to use Harley in the future, so the government couldn't be tied to it) that would have made a lot more sense.

As pc as this culture is, if the big wigs fucked with a woman director for woder woman, there would be huge back lash. WB would not want that. So let's now pray that she's a good director

Riddler could be amazing if done right. Smart plot twists for the win.

Should have made Joker the Big Bad.

- Go hard or go home: make SS an R Rated movie.

- Start the movie with a homage to the bank robbery in Dark Knight. Only this time, the gang are juiced up on a Venom derivative manufactured by the Joker. The Venom gives them superhuman strength and speed, but one of the side-effects is uncontrollable blood lust. The gang successfully rob the bank, but end up killing everyone there and dozens of cops before they are finally brought down.

- Waller sets up the Squad to kill the Joker and retrieve the Venom formula. She needs a black ops unit she can disavow all knowledge off because the Joker originally stole the Venom formula from the US Military. Waller thinks Harley's previous history with the Joker will give her an edge.

- The members of the Squad are introduced. We get a lot more Joker/Harley flashbacks. Apart from that, Harley, Katana, Killer Croc and Boomerang are basically unchanged, but Slipknot is revealed to be a serial rapist. Deadshot keeps his mask on at all times during the mission. He's also much more cynical and laconic. In other words, the Will Smith-ness is dialed way back. There is no mention of a happy family life. Indeed, it's hinted that a tragedy involving his daughter turned him into the cold blooded killer he is now. Enchantress should be cut from the movie because she's a lame character. The only real difference to Diablo is he doesn't suddenly decide the Squad are his new family.

- The first big set piece involves the Squad tracking down the Joker's Venom lab. They fight both the Joker and his goons. It's at this point that Slipknot panics, tries to escape and is killed by Waller. During the fight, Harley has the drop on Joker, but can't bring herself to kill him. He escapes with a large quantity of Venom.

- Waller's superiors cancel the program. The Squad will be returned to jail. Flag, who has developed a grudging respect for the Squad, allows them to have a few drinks in a bar. We get the complete scene from the trailer. While they are drinking, they see the Joker appear on the news: he announces he has kidnapped Waller and his holding her, along with many other hostages, at a Midway hospital. He invites Harley to join him. He also warns that all the members of his gang have taken the Venom, and that Harley needs to hurry because,

"My boys are getting hungry...and there are lots of juicy, little newborn babies lying around here..."

- We get the, "I can't wait to show you my toys/I'm just going to hurt you" scene. But this time it's the Joker torturing Waller.

- Harley and the rest of the Squad assault the hospital. The battle against the Venom goons is brutal. Flag and Deadshot are seriously injured. Boomerang is killed defending Katana, who was knocked out by one of the Venom goons. Croc and Diablo kill a lot of the Venom goons before sheer exhaustion render them ineffective. Eventually it comes down to Harley and Joker. He tries to sweet talk her into killing Waller, who has been brutally tortured. It looks as though Harley will do it, but at the last second she changes her mind and knives the Joker with the scalpel he had given her to slit Waller's throat.

- Film ends with the Joker in custody, the surviving members of the Squad recovering from their wounds, and Waller doing research on a new mission. We see the words, "Namba Parbat" on her computer...

- Mid credit scene with Batman and Waller.

Would see this movie

I liked it. It wasn't an amazing film by any means but it was a fun summer popcorn flick to not take too seriously. Leto's Joker was good. He had a tough gig. He couldn't be campy Joker cause that was Nicolson/Romero and he couldn't be more "realistic, twisted" Joker cause that was Heath. He had to find something different to not be compared to either and I thought he did well. Him and Harley's chemistry was off the charts. Loved seeing them on-screen together. Harley had some cringewrothy lines and her Brooklyn accent was all over the place but she delivered well and was the lifeblood of the movie.

Will Smith gave a great performance and I came away liking Deadshot a whole lot more than I thought I would. Flagg was an asshole who I was begging for Deadshot to beat the shit out of the whole time.
