The DNC ended Bernies bid who was the guy for public healthcare. The rest of the DNC is not. Also it looks like you missed COVID which saw the DNC and most of its base become pro big pharma. Meanwhile RFK has become the face of healthcare reform and is part of the GOP administration.

There are some GOP establishment cronies left but they are in the minority now. Most of it just does whatever Trump says and no Yrump is no conservative. He is literally an outsider that the GOP establishment did not want. The establishment DNC didn't want him either. However the establishment DNC proved to have more power within their own party compared to the establishment GOP. This is why Bernie got defeated.

He tried to get it pushed thru before the election so he'd have that as a win going in. All the while dems said they'd never endorse such a vaccine. Far worse than that was hiding the fact that it was due to the lab leak and that untested vaccines were forced upon everyone is what the establishment wanted. Dems fell right in line endorsing the vaccine and forcing it on everyone.

I really don't understand the contention anyway as I've never once been asked for proof of vaccination and don't know anyone who has. Back in the day I had to be vaxxed to go to school. Now I get vaxxed so I don't get sick.

I'm not part of any political party and find many things objectionable about Democrats. MAGA is far worse by any metric I can think of. RFK is the only person in the building talking about how the health insurance industry is a major factor in why the system is fucked. When they don't even acknowledge it you know there is no hope. Hopefully he's more than talk. Only time will tell

That’s the problem. A totally unrestricted private sector ran health care system augmented by an equally criminal pharma industry is how we got here.

Your other option is a government ran option, and people have zero confidence that the government can do anything competently.

In defense of the latter option, my personal experience with VA healthcare has been overrall positive. Based on this, I do believe that our govt could replicate this model on a larger scale and effectively spend less than they do with our current model.

The problem is, Obama’s attempt at reform was branded as a Democratic (big D) product, dubbed “Obamacare”, and was instantly rejected and scorned by anyone on the opposite side of the political spectrum when it should have never been a partisan issue.

Health insurance companies responded by jacking up their rates to compensate for profit loss due to having to actually cover prexisting conditions and such.

If congress won’t stand up to these corporations, and it’s debatable if they should as it violates the fundamental spirit of a free market, than a government ran option really is your only other recourse.i bet if we tried again and called it “Trumpcare”, there’d be a lot more support on the right.
