Media Strickland says he turned Whittaker down due to his high "body count".

Never seen a bigger bunch of bologna in my life. Fluffy still hasn't proven a god damn thing in regards to being a tougher fight for Sean. I am convinced he's the easier fight to be honest.

Who is his best win to have proven to be better than Rob? I'll wait. Rob still has more than enough left in the tank to be a tough fight for Sean.

Stylistically Fluffy might be the easier fight, it's tough to know how washed Rob is at this point.

The funny thing is you really should want the bigger name/easier fight, so why wouldn't he want to fight Whittaker? Strickland hasn't fought in a year and is coming off a loss, he's got 2 title fight losses in his last 3 fights and yet he somehow thinks 1 win over an unproven contender will get him ANOTHER title fight?

Dude has CTE logic.

Sean knows his current worth as a man of mystery coning off a rough patch.

But if he gets the hat trick -- he'll probably be scrambling for anyone to screw him.

"It's not a fight I'm excited about. He’s like the girl at the party that everybody’s fucked. And you’re just like... maybe if it’s 3 AM and there’s nobody left, I might try it... Whittaker's body count is too high.
I wanna fight somebody that gets me excited. 'Fluffy' is a guy that I'm excited, like, 'Fuck yeah, give me something new, something different.'

The good thing about ‘Fluffy,’ the guy’s on, like a 50-fight winning streak. You’re next in line. He’s like the American Chimaev. That’s the fight."

What an extremely gay thing to say

Just imagine how good Sean would be if he had more power in his shots? And it's not just a dream, is it? Couldn't he develop hitting power?

I mean if he's trying to get the Khamzat fight Rob definitely ain't the guy who's gonna get him that, Fluffy might though.
Beating Fluffy would be a better chance at getting a title fight after with a win

Problem is, he's not in any position to have any percent chance of getting a title fight after his next win.

He should fight Rob, then start thinking of guys like Fluffy

Sean is like an old busted fluorescent light bulb. He appears normal, but he's cracked and full of toxic shit that is in danger of leaking out with the smallest provocation.

No need to get hung up on Sean's 'colourful' explanation...the simple fact is that the risk/reward *clearly* favours fighting Fluffy and Sean surely knows that too.

Whittaker: ranked 9th, coming off two losses, has lost to two of the three guys above #3 Sean (champ Khamzat and #1 DDP).

Fluffy: ranked 4th, 8-fight win streak, one fight away from a title shot (assuming #2 Imavov will be next), and seen by some as the most intriguing stylistic matchup for Khamzat (even if he would still be a sizeable underdog).

Why the fuck would Sean even consider accepting a fight with Rob? Hell, even Allen or the Izzy rematch would make more sense than Rob...

Respect for going after the tougher guy. Not saying that Rob isn't still very good but in 2026, Fluffy is definitely the harder fight.
Robert had his time....now its time that you take him to the bar for a few beers....between aussies and new-zealanders.
