Strickland is the most boring, one-dimensional fighter

What unique style/. High guard, walk around, do nothing for 4.5 mins and then open up? He is to stand up what ppl used to say about GSP on the ground. Safe. Boring.

I don't know any other MMA fighters using the philly crab succesfully. It's true he could work on adding a couple more weapons, but its cool to see someone being succesful doing something unorthodox.

Dricus has his number. For all the talk he did he showed up after a giant swolen staph hole on his arm. Idk if that effected him but he made the walk

And he looked maybe worst in his last 5 fights. Unlike the Adasanya fight he wasn't hurting leg checks or successfully coming over the top. He was jabbing and teeping to minimal success and winging shit. Sucks to say. Strickland maintained energy and weathered a terrible nose injury but how could we be excited for a threequel? Did Strickland enter a match kicking and screaming with staph?

I don't know what you do with either now. You gotta think Imanov is waiting

But that is the problem: not enough weapons or actually I think it is a fear, which is understandable. Like a fear that if I open up things will go badly, like against Alex.

I do think he won the first fight with DDP. But he was in sparring mode on Saturday and looked bad in the rematch.

I'm baffled to see so many comments online of people saying "He said he'd fight to the death, what the fuck was that, throwing nothing but jabs and teeps the whole time?"

Like, dude, you ever watched Sean Strickland fight before? Jabs and teeps is all he always does, this isn't fucking new. If you really thought he'd suddenly turn into Wanderlei Silva because he said he'd fight to the death, here's a tip: If a stranger calls and asks for your bank account info, he ain't just trying to cash you a fat cheque. Don't give it away.

yeah if you watch silhouettes of fighters moving around Strickland is one of the few that you immediately recognize

Nah, he's a great fighter with a pretty unique style. We need more of that in the UFC, not less. He got outclassed today, though, by another great fighter.
Nothing about him is unique lol all he does is blah, blah, blah, jabs, & kicks.

I disagree. He is highly technical and a top level fighter at 185. DDP is just better than him, simple as that.

no his selling point was that he almost knocked out the famed Israel Adesanya. now that DDP has battered Adesanya and finished him and Imavov finished him Strickland going to a decision with him doesn't look so hot anymore.
That's just not fair or right. Adesanya was the champion when Sean beat him. He just knocked out Potan like 7 months prior and had besides the loss to Potan, he had never lost at MW. It's a lot easier to make the argument that the Sean caused the decline with the dominating victory than Izzy was already on the decline prior to their fight.

i didn't say it's fair or right, i'm saying that's how the general fanbase are going to look at it. look how fast they turned on his ass. they actually believed for whatever reason he was going to "til the death" in this fight. how do i know this? just look at how many people were disappointed with this fight compared to the last DDP fight or really, any fight of Sean's.

he fought basically the exact same fight in this fight as he did in the first fight but look at the difference in reaction. the first fight the general consensus was "all Sean has to do is a little bit more punching and he wins! he's so technical!" compared to after this fight "this shit is the most boring fight ever, i never want to see this guy main event again!"

it has little to do with reality and more to do with the perception and feelings of the general public.
