Street Fighter V v2: PS4 and PC ONLY

How is everyone doing in the Survival Challenges. I've only beaten Normal with Rashid, Ken, Vega at this point. Not even close to completing Hard yet.

Only tried it once on Normal. It was pretty easy.

They should scale it back a bit and just up the average difficulty.

Easy - 10 rds
Normal - 20 rds
Hard - 30 rds
Hell - 50 rds

30 to 50 rounds is plenty... 100 is just obnoxious. Especially when the difficulty suddenly ramps up in the final 3 characters after just blitzing through the first 20+ rounds.

That's what bothers me the most about it. You waste most of it just spamming bullshit against retarded CPU. It's boring and there's no benefit to it. Then all of a sudden the difficulty ramps up out of nowhere and you've already become accustomed to the stupid CPUs you fought previously.

That's where landing your hit confirms come in!

What are hit confirms?

From what I understand a 'hit confirm' is when you hit your opponent with a normal attack that would allow you to lead into a combo. .

How I have been working on it (albeit slowly) is I set my dummy to block on random. I walk up with Ryu and I do a back high kick (he blocks) I hit him with a standing low punch (he blocks) I try a forward high punch (he blocks) I then go for a forward medium punch and I hit. Once I hit that forward medium punch I have an open window to complete a combo. If I drop it, I start over. It something every new street fighter player should learn and understand as that will bring you to the next level.

When I was playing @Gref last night, I dropped at least 10 combos after I hit him with standing medium punch because my timing was off. Had I practiced more hit confirming, I would have been able to capitalize on those strikes for more damage.

Edit: This is a video that I will be watching over and over again. One of the best tutorials on how to properly use the training room.

Simply put it's confirming that a hit landed clean before continuing your combo if possible.

Edit: For example, Ryu's cr.MK is good move for hit confirming into tatsu, fireball, DP if close enough, and CA. It hits low, comes out quick and stays out for a while. If it lands, the window to confirm is pretty good.

I should be able to get in some play time later tonight so I'll give this a go.

Anyone on? Haven't played since my matches with whoever was on here last week.

Actually bro it worked just fine, perhaps it was patched at launch or something.

Definitely a different experience right off the bat, im struggling hitting cr.lk into hadoken, yup even something that simple is giving me trouble.. i didnt expect a square gate on the joystick either. But it feels sturdy and well made, very happy.

Is there a way in online to have a character select screen? I fucking hate choosing my prefereed character and having to roll with that, i would like the choice every time instead.

ah you must be a PS4 user then.
No go on PC.

GGs, Gref.

I have to say that this my favorite version of Bison. So much fun.

I gave Hard survival a try and made it to match 25 when Gief ate me up. Side note when you get finished by his CA you stay planted in the ground, I just that was cool even though I was the one planted heh.

I didn't realise I would have had to make it to match 50 to unlock the colors lol eff that.

Made it to 40 and wiped on Karin. I should have enabled fight request!! FML

Edit: Yoooooooooooo

Got the Hori fight pad in the mail yesterday. I like it. Just too bad my room mate showed up last night and got me ridiculously high. I think I lost 20 something casual matches last night, lol.

Can't come soon enough... this fight money is burning a hole in my wallet!

Without a given date I'm just going to assume March 30th or 31st.

So we need 100k to unlock a character? I'm not even close to that amount. Not even close to half, lol.
