I train BJJ with a 6ft6, 140kg Judo Black Belt. He is also a powerlifter, so basically a bit of a beast. I'm 6ft5 115kg Blue Belt however so I can handle him (almost), and quite often find myself taking his back and flattening him out, due to him turtling a lot.
Trying to choke him though is impossible, trying to move to an armbar is crazy as it gives him top position and that's game over, but I'm wondering if I've got him flattened out, is there a way to quickly move to the legs and go for a straight ankle lock? Previously a straight ankle lock is the only way I've tapped him.
