There will always be speculation behind Khabib’s legacy and it’s justifiable. He left at the top of his game without running through the gauntlet of constant top 5 opponents at 5 rounds.

Sorry, but I disagree.
First: DP got Khabib in a guillotine. He did not finish, but he had it. And Charles proved his BJJ is a level above DP.

Judging by his record-breaking number of submissions, he is a level above almost everyone else (if not everyone else) in terms of finding a submission.

This is akin to what happened when Werdum fought Cain: Cain couldn't stay standing, but taking Werdum down was deadly.... and he found out just how deadly it was.

Lucky for Khabib, they would not fight at high altitude, but then again... they are NOT fighting at all, are they? So this is just a basic theoretical discussion.

And I don't even state Charles would win... but to claim he has no chance is beyond stupid. You don't win 20 fights via submission (and 9 KO's) in 32 wins without being VERY GOOD at finishing people.
Now, Khabib is not just anyone; and that makes it a VERY intriguing fight! I just wish we could have seen it.
 
Well we never get to know, because Khabib was too worried about losing that 0 and retired. Also he damn near killed himself everytime he cut weight, to keep the strength advantage.

His best win is infamous wall walker, Dustin Poirier who fit his style perfectly.

Could he beat Charles? Probably, but we will never know, because we havent seen enough prime Khabib to tell. Had he smashed prime ferguson or some other impressive shit then we could make an educated guess, but McGregor, Gaethje and Poirier aint enough for me.

His current record will never have him anywhere near the goat list for anyone else but the biased fanboys.

There's athletes in every sport that retired early due to injury or other reasons that looked like that could be GOATs, and are never included in any of those conversations.

If Olives beats Justin. He probably lapsed Khabib in terms of competition. People will readjust and claim McGregor is the hardest challenge. If he takes Islam then people will claim Islam sucks.

He's the GOAT, you can moan about it all you like. The only casuals are those who's only criteria for GOATness is the number of title defenses, even though the path to getting the title is vastly different for everybody.

Only casuals seriously consider Khabib as a goat. He just doesn't have the resume to put himself in the conversation.
 
Khabib would probably dominate Oliveira if they fought, but they won't so this thread is pointless.

I doubt we'll ever see a better LW than Khabib. But seeing multiple LW champions with more title defenses than him is just a matter of time.

3 defenses isn't especially hard to beat.

Charles is still there.

People are gonna speculate. Charles is like no opponent Khabib's faced. There is an easy way to settle this if Khabib wants to--and I don't say that to imply Khabib is scared or that Charles would win, only that in the mind of people like you, TS, there is nothing Charles could ever do to come close to Khabib.

The sad part is, even if Khabib unretired, fought him and lost, TS would be the FIRST EXCUSER, "Oh pre-retirement Khabib would have dominated."

These arguments are so stupid. I guess I'm stupid too for engaging.

War Charles and Khabib, two of my favorite LW's and two absolute fucking BEASTS.
