Economy stonks v9, bubble yum

whew, sold amd close enough to the peak. bought 100 more @ 87 and sold an overpriced $89C 10/16 against... will look to load up on more tomorrow/monday/whatever, assuming it drops a bit.

they're probably gonna kill it q4+, but this looks to sell down a bit without a 5 ghz clock... despite the specs looking damn good and milan likely dominating @ server

and now that i'm on so much cash, i wish i didn't already buy back 90% of the fcel puts i wrote 2 days ago. oh, well. gains are gains

i picked a bad week to sell puts on uvxy (ie: leveraged vix). kinda can't believe the volatility is this low. might just buy into it, i can't fathom how it wouldn't spike soon.

edit:

does anyone else REALLY hate partially executed orders? i know it's worse for anyone who plays with options, but ffs...

thanks for the 5 shares.

$MVIS approved their additional shares(which they say they wont use but used for leverage because they want to sell), made a quick 10% on the dip, this morning.
It was a no brainer that share holders were going to approve. Should be $3 by November.

so that's what the movement was. funny enough, a limit order i placed a while ago triggered and i closed all of my (sold) puts @ .05. lolz. ($1 11/20, i think. i think my avg on them was .19). so i figured they were booming.

apparently, i should have bought/held shares. they've done pretty well and their theta's been nice on the upside, too.

edit:

@brackis1

and i just sold srac

looking to get back in, though. or something. if i don't move a ton back into amd i'll have a lot of cash to park somewhere. on a related note, i sold $10p on ccxx. not sure if that was a terrible idea or not, it's clearly not popular at the moment...

I made a huge play on them, when they dipped below 1.50. (Have been in and out of them and first purchase was under $1) The shares are worth 6.66/each (minus the new shares they say they wont use) for every billion they sell the company. Seeking Alpha who was bagging on $MVIS last month, today says after the last LIDAR company(driverless tech) sold $MVIS driver less tech, which has the longest range out of all available should be worth 2 billion. The 2 billion does not even include their Hallolens tech that Microsoft is paying to use.
The gamble is the big boys that can buy them, can slowly bleed them, since they are cash poor, but that is what the additional shares is supposed to prevent. Last earnings they stated they want to sell.

Game stop ripped 44.12%, up another 4.89% premarket. Could see this easily continue the upward trend with the MSFT news. Fuck it bought some shares premarket, will look to sell quickly by Friday close.

Also bought DKNG shares, seems stock has cooled off lately but i think it pops to $55. Going to hold.

Still holding HYLN, popped nice today, see more movement on the up until next week. Target $33 for me.

I hope so. Holding does pay off a lot but its difficult emotionally to hold stocks when you see others skyrocketing. I have learned a great deal to not panic sell or let my emotions override my logic trading stock. Those big gains some day do eventually come if you believe in the stock!

lol fell asleep at 5pm watching baseball and awake to AMD down and XLNX up bigly on a buyout rumour and the rest of the markets up.

Came into a little money.

I know nothing about stocks but I think everybody should know enough to be able to invest if wanting to.

My situation lots me a very large amount of time to reading/watch videos.

Currently understanding topics like, Index Funds, Dividend Stocks, Low-Risk Stocks, Long-Term. Learning about sites like Vanguard/BlackRock. I'm 2 days in atm.

I will be taking my time with this, Any videos / books / web sites you guys can post will be used.

Sculpting a 10yr plan, would like trading to be apart of it. Thanks for any help!

Depends on what your job/job prospects are, plus if you have dependent family or not, and if you have debt.
"came into a little money" could mean anything from $1000 to 1,000,000 depending on the context.

No family / Kids ... Going to start with 10k ... Not sure what my job has to do with this?

I have a 50k W2 job and 2 side jobs that are under the table... Don't want to explain anymore =)

XLNX tanked at the open so I just started nibbling.
NVDA down off my short.
Ran away even somehow on Enphase got scared of solar agaib, sure enough they all spiked and now ill rehsort a bit.
Bought Inseego.
Sold SPR
Only thing ive been wrong on is FSLY today.

finally sold vale. (as in, vale tudo)

might actually buy back in if it dips to 10.50ish. i apparently made a pretty good amount off this, between the dividends (got 2 sets of dividends somehow), the premiums, and the SP. no idea what's going on with this company, and i think everyone else is in the same boat in that regard...

uvxy/vix is clobbering me. lolz. i shouldn't have doubled down, i guess.

edit: lolz, people seem to really hate ccxx/mpln. now i see why the $10P were so pricey. not sure if this should mean more caution for their other spac, ccx

Watch some YouTube videos. Stay away from options until you know what you are doing. Personally I would put 75% of that money in a tier 1 company that pays dividends. Apple, Microsoft. Amazon, etc. I know that sounds boring but your goal is to make money. Lastly research. Any questions this thread is useful. Not all our posts are winners but we do alright.

Job is important to know because it can provide insight into job security, job trajectory (promotion vs stasis vs layoffs), and future ability to save wages.

I'd say UNLESS YOU ENJOY THE SPORT OF IT, just stick that shit into Microsoft and Walmart.

so i'm yet again looking for windmill/wind power stocks

and again realizing that there basically are none outside of foreign markets. i'm still bitter about the TERP buyout. TPIC is still around and their business seems horrible, but their SP is way up. ($34 now with weaker business vs ~$20 in 2019 when they had stronger business...)

odd that solar is hypersaturated and there's basically no real wind stocks (there are ETFs and energy companies that don't really count... a bunch like BWEN seem to pretend to be wind but are mostly fracking/oil/other)

I move a lot so I was able to gain lots of skills for job security. The MS/Walmart is smart, ill start looking into that. I would like to get to a point where I can use my knowledge in certain areas to "bet" a little on stocks.

Gather from both you I should invest in MS or one of the giant companies of America to get my feet wet.

For all the assholes on SD you can find some decent people on here.

Ill keep you guys posted, give me a few days to put together something.
