Economy stonks v26

Amzn hammered but it’s not all been bad for tech.

Pins and Intel nice earnings. Apple all things considered decent tbh. There was not a chance I was betting against Apple today.

Earnings haven’t been so bad tbh, more of a mixed bag. Strong usd is hurting though.
I actually think we might do a premature relief rally here.

im just going to follow ur trades from now on I dont think Ive ever seen you lose even once, its amazing!
I just whiffed on a snap vs FB short today.
But my AMZN assessment seems right. It's up 8% off its lows and all of tech has recovered too

Awful week for me.

MSFT
META
GOOGLE
Amazon

At least my Oil stocks are up.

Tell me about it..

My biggest regret this year was not holding OIL stocks for longer. Actually, I have been playing them all year and made some ridiculous gains but Tech has off set them quite a bit. Honestly, I should have stuck with trading oil/commodity all year in hindsight and not messed with Tech, but meh lesson learned.

Sold $HAL at $25, which is now up +50% on the month. Was riding around 20k in there, huge mistake lulz.

Time to yolo into medicinal mushrooms.

20% drop in a $1 trillion + company is some wild shit.

Amazon is a company that requires more than a cursory glance though. You can't just look at EPS headlines and scream the sky is falling because "they're not even making money!" Amazon spend more on R&D than Microsoft and Apple combined. In some recent years they've spent more than twice what Microsoft and Apple combined have. They trounce Alphabet as well. And they're not wasting it on pipe dreams. AWS results are super impressive and we're still in the early innings.

Revenue of $17.5 billion in 2017 to $62.2 billion in 2021. Operating income of $4.3 billion in 2017 to $18.5 billion in 2021. Etc.

Damn AMZN at 87 looked sexy and I only nibbled in the low 90s like a wimp. I wonder if it ends up above 100 tomorrow.

Once people had time to sit and digest the earnings a little bit they realized the sky isn't falling. From $88 back to $98 in two hours.

Don't really have much on or off. Seems like a wildly stock specific fun market.

AWS is what matters. Not spectacular compared to growth in recent years, but also nothing that should have wiped out 1/5th of the AMZN's value. We're in a tough environment right now.

The backlog was also up over 50% y/y.

XOM delivers a crushing quarter. Not only that almost match AAPL on profits. The profits for big oil is nothing short of remarkable. They’ll probably leave big tech in the dust next quarter.

Crazy stuff tbh.

I keep wanting to sell my 3 oil stocks but the dividends have been great. I have resigned myself to 2023 to sell unless something crazy happens and just reinvest the dividends, since I don’t need the money right now.

This market is baffling. Like, I've been mostly right on most things and still can't make money on it.

Wow, Meta has erased all gains for the past 6 and a half to 7 years. There were points in 2015 it was higher.
Investing in Meta depends if you think all the money Facebook is pouring into the Metaverse is going to actually work or not.
Next generation phones are supposed to handle it better. Problem is Zuck is burning an ass load of cash to make it work. The other problem is the way the stock is distributed there is not a damn thing anybody can do to stop Zuck from burning all that cash. He is untouchable from getting voted out. Zuck seems insane enough to push in all his chips to make it work.
It currently is not low enough for me to gamble on Zuck yet, but if it keeps dropping, I might take a nibble on Zuck getting it to work. Right now its a cluster fuck.
The problem is he needs a new revenue source. Facebook will eventually like every social media site start deteriorating users. Users equal ad dollars.

BRK.B is about to break even for the year again. Down less than 1% YTD now.

LMT up 23% in the last month.

MA had solid earnings, up 4% today.

I'm feeling good today.
