stock trading

Is it true that even mutual funds take 40% draw downs in these crashes? And this is supposed to be a conservative intelligent place to put money? Do they use stop losses?

It depends on what you invest in. Not all mutual funds are the same, ya know.

Day Trading?

You're in for a world of hurt.

I'd recommend to not day trade

the short term capital gains taxes, the inherit risk involved, the fact that you WILL overextend yourself and become an emotional investor are all reasons why you will hate it

I have zero experience, but I happen to have 20 shares of Disney stock that I got 12 years ago as a graduation present. I want to sell it, but my Grandma has the certificate & I don't get along with her.

I bought a couple hundred of SNAP on RH and sold it when it hit $29 a share. Probably going to buy in again if it hits IPO or below. Have another 100 shares in AMD. It's a bull market right now. Good time to fuck around if you have spare cash.

Been researching stocks latley and decided to sign up with Trade King online broker .

What's you're guys experience in trading stocks. The site is well laid out and somewhat easy to understand. How much money did you guys start with? To you guys play individual stocks? I'm thinking I will spread my money across the board to limit loss .

Let me know you're success or failure in the stock market.
Not to be that guy but... there are great threads in the Mayberry about stocks and investing (I'm talking multiple threads) you might want to search for. Seeking Alpha be your friend.

A lot of great info in those threads.

@kenetics Seeking Alpha is a good website to look at. Yahoo Finiance actually has good info and easy to locate if you're looking for company balance sheets, income statements etc.

Also, if you have a few bucks laying around you could buy Bloomberg Terminal. Only a few bucks though
:D

I've recently got into it myself I've been watching the "financial education" channel on YouTube and opened a Robinhood account. I've been playing around and learning. So far it's been fun you can spend entire days just reading and learning about it

What are your thoughts about binary options trading? Do you like it too? I have found a very nice and useful resource on it at http://best-binary-options-strategy.com/bosts_strategy/ You can find a lot of interesting and nice working strategies for you there. If you are interested in it, that resource will definitely come in handy

I buy into mutual funds. I don't have the time or inclination to actually trade. I believe most people who try don't really do much better than the good mutual funds anyway.
