Jones vs Stipe or Jones vs Gane are the best options. But only if Jones wins. Which, of course, no once can book knowing.

Stipe vs Gane is 2nd best, in terms of optics. Cause Lewis lost to Gane and it would look like Stipe picking on an easier fight at this point.

Stipe vs Lewis is an awesome fight, though. One I always wanted.

I agree, this is the fight I’d prefer if Jones isn’t fighting and we need an interim champ while Ngannou is out.
 
The UFC will cut Francis if they don't figure something out, at which point, there will be no need for an interim belt. If Francis didn't have a fucked up knee, I'm sure they'd be petty and make him wait out the rest of his contract, but now they don't have to. Francis isn't fighting until next winter at least as it is, regardless of whether he's still on the roster or not. Pettiness won't be to his detriment, and a fight for the undisputed HW title is much more marketable. No point in sacrificing that.

True, but his biggest fight in recent memory is the loss to Gane who Francis beat. You know this. If anything, book Lewis vs Gane 2 for the interim title again.

Nah Gane needs to fight Blaydes next to test himself against a wrestler. Lewis/Stipe next if Lewis ktfo Tai.

I can't argue against Lewis/Stipe cause it's a fight I want, but I just don't think it's a good interim fix.
 
Makes sense, but Black Beast is fighting Tuivasa in a few weeks

Claiming he has any claim to a title shot when Gane humiliated him so badly is a joke at best...
