Stipe Miocic VS F

Miocic by tko somewhere in the third to fourth round. Maldonado will hang in there like usual. But I think after a few rounds where both guys land some shots, Stipe will eventually take down a more damaged and undersized Maldonado, and smash the shit out of him. Maldonado will try to stay in there, but the ref will ultimately jump in.

Stipe is hittable, especially since Maldonado will have some speed and he has some good boxing skills. But he will not have the power to hurt Stipe significantly. Besides, Miocic will resort to his wrestling (which he will have a big advantage) at any point Maldonado starts landing on the feet. Props to Maldonado for taking this fight, but he is outmatched by a bigger, and imo an all around better fighter.

This is why its hard to take the UFC seriously at times. I like this matchup. But it just shows how ridiculous it was that Stipe was originally fighting JDS. Since when is Maldonado a good injury replacement for JDS? And what's even funnier is not too many people would be shocked if he pulled it out but was somehow a candidate to beat JDS? This could end up being a very close, exciting fight. I'm glad he isn't fighting JDS but he's gonna have to murder Maldonado to gain anything from this fight just because he was matched up against JDS originally

Yeah, Although Stipe hasn't got the heaviest of hands, Fabio doesn't ever get to taste the sort of shots he'll quite possibly have to eat. Having said that, I'm not sold on Stipes boxing skills, and Fabio's basically sugar Ray by comparison.

My heart says Fabio can draw this out and avoid the big shots, gaining a decision, but my head says he gets caught at some point and finished.

I love Maldonado. There's something poetic about a man that comes to use pure boxing in the octagon, with the whole range of shots and switches. Ahh, please win Fabio.
