“He’s tough, he’s big, strong, hits hard but he’s just another dude,” Miocic said in a recent interview with FloCombat. “That’s what it is.”

“You’re telling me Mark Hunt doesn’t hit that hard? Or Roy Nelson? Or Junior dos Santos? Come on,” Miocic added. “He hits hard and definitely if you get hit square like that [it’s bad news], but I’m definitely going to keep my head up, keep my head on a swivel, and make sure I’m doing everything right.”

Sorry Stipe, you're wrong.

Ngannou is your most dangerous opponent thus far, by a long way.

It's smart to recognise him as the supreme threat that he is, and that its going to take a near perfect performance from you to beat him.

Watching Ngannou's strength and conditioning as well as sparring and pad work. This guy is SOMETHING ELSE. Gonna finish Stipe in round 1.

They’re *all* threats.

I agree this is his most dangerous opponent, but Stipe is still correct - he’s just another dude.

Somewhat more dangerous than the others, but obviously, very beatable for a fighter of Stipe’s caliber.

It’s a fairly even matchup.

This is the chance for Stipe to finally solidify himself as the undisputed best HW in the world and get the recognition he deserves. N'Gannou has such hype behind him that at this point, if Stipe were to just dominate him, he would be in consideration for the best Heavyweight ever.

WAR Stiopic.

Imagine he finishes Stipe the way he did Overeem...
Then you can shutdown the division because nobody dares to fight him.

Any of these guys could knock each other out when they hit this hard. Stipe isn't wrong to think that way. This quote doesn't mean he's taking him lightly.

At that point, he'll answer a lot of doubts I still currently have about his level. It's a frightening thought that he could destroy Stipe while still being as green as he is in terms of years in competition.

' Stipe will do Stipe as he has done so far with success. It is up to the new buck to prove him wrong. Best to both. Exciting fight is upon us. '

The biggest blackest most powerful hard hittin person Stipe has ever faced. Pretty good chance hes getting put to sleep. #ANDNEW

I’ll put my money where my mouth is and throw 200$ on Stipe to win and 150$ for him to win by decision.

Fundamentals > Power.

Bet slip coming soon.

Here you go.

Lol at comparing Roy Nelson to Ngannou. He sounds like he is trivializing the situation to give him extra confidence.

No, it's standard Stipe boilerplate language. Ask him which opponent hit him the hardest, he'll say all heavyweights hit hard. You can't even get him to predict the outcomes of other fights too often, generally he'll say something like "whoever manages to implement their game plan first." He steadfastly refuses to rank people.

EDIT By the way, lately in an interview he gave an unprompted testimony about Roy being very athletic.

Just, what? He specifically compared the power aspect alone, and emphasized that he acknowledges that if you get hit square by either man, it's gonna be lights out. How is that trivializing the situation? I don't get it.

It's also weird to me how people often don't give consideration to how hard and fast Stipe can throw hands aswell. He can put anyone out as good as any HW out there, even if he doesn't generate the insane type of power that N'Gannou can manage. You get clocked by Stipe with your neck stiffened out and there's no reason to assume that you're not done, even if you are a massive musclebound behemoth.

Well isn't he? Competing at the highest level of MMA with that amount of bodyfat and complete lack of any real strength and conditioning training and yet still having staying power at Heavyweight of all divisions? You can say what you want about Roy Nelson's aesthetics these days, but he is an athlete for sure.

You should've seen him when he was younger and slimmer and known as one of the most top-heavy BJJ guys in the world.

Betting the house of Miocic, will post betting slip closer to fight.

Stipe is a badass but I don't have a good feeling about this one

Rooting for Stipe. I think Stipe will be too much for him. I think Ngannou is the one taking him lightly. Really interested in this one.

I think smart-Stipe win
I think Ngannou murder overconfident-Stipe

I hope for Miocic the "he's just another dude" talking is press conference tactic and not what truly is in his head
